Alldaychemist warning

I made a post a while back about how quite some time ago about how it appeared that the security on the alldaychemist site was compromised over the period of a few days last year. This resulted in details being stolen and in my case, fraudulent use of my bank card which was thankfully spotted by the bank. The card was immediately cancelled and I heard nothing since. Also, the consensus appears to be that alldaychemist beefed up their security after that time.

Fast forward to last week and I received a telephone call from someone identifying himself as a member of the alldaychemist team. He knew my name, telephone number and the order I had previously made. He kept offering me 'unbeatable deals' and when I refused them the offers kept getting better and better. When he realised he was getting nowhere he hung up. Basically I think he was after my new card details. I googled the telephone number (+4015580047) and found lots of people with similar concerns:

http://whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/4015580047 , http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-401-558-0047/6  etc.

Following on from this I went to the 'live chat' area of alldaychemist and the person I spoke to told me that they NEVER call anyone with offers and then forwarded me to a page on their site stating that people have been receiving calls and that they have nothing to do with this.

I just thought I'd give people a heads up, because if you do so happen to receive a call from someone claiming to be alldaychemist it is certainly not them and you should not give them any details!

Thank you for the warning!
The warning is right in my opinion to every phone call or email of unsolicited sales.

I agree. I think taking certain precautions is advisable and will mean that you're unlikely to end up being ripped off:  Never give payment details over the phone, always use a card where you are refunded if someone uses it illegally etc. I now use a pre-paid card to order online, meaning that even if someone steals my details it's of little consequence because I only top it up when I need to order something.
