i'm not quite sure what to do about this condition, i'vr had it since i was 16 and i'm now 19 and have only recently plucked up the courage to contact someone about it, the bend is very severe and literally starts staight and ends up facing 90 decrees and also it goes to the right as well (very painful to try and move it straight) with a large loss of length upwards currently trying to get it check out at the nhs but it is taking very long (appled in january and they are only just going to have an appointment in august...) i wondered if anyone could suggest what i should do about it or how i could speed the process up a bit
thanks for any help

newguy

That's certainly a long time to wait, though now at least you're not too far off getting it checked out. I would concentrate on preparing yourself as best you can for the appointment. In the resource library there are studies relating to pentox, ved, traction an so on, so you can take these with you to the appointment. It may be that they immediately propose a surgical solution, but there might be advantages to trying to reduce the curvature somewhat using more conservative options first. What do others think?

I agree with Newguy that have to be prepared when you go to see the doctor.
I also agree that have to try some less invasive treatment before surgery, surgery should be the last choice, not first. Many doctors like to make surgery (my first two doctors also), maybe they are getting more money and experience.
You have waited already 3 years so it will not make any difference waiting two months more.

I am proposing you to invest time and read much as possible on the forum to enlarge your knowledge regarding Peyronies, it will be more easy for you to take decisions on how to proceed.

DON'T try to move it strait! Not just because is painfull but also you can make more damage.
Do you have ED also or your erections are still hard? Do you have nocturnal and morning erections?

James

Age 71, Peyronies from Jan 2009 following penis fracture during sex. Severe ED.
Lost 2" length and a lot of girth. Late start, still VED, Cialis & Pentox helped. Prostate surgery 2014.
Got amazing support on the forum

it's painful either way , it is normal that sometimes even whe i'm not erect i get extremely paniful streaks from it? which happen completely randomly?

also i'm not sure about ED because sometimes it is and sometimes it isn't but perhaps it is stress related?

LWillisjr

If your ED is random then I'm guessing it is more related to stress. If you truly had ED due to some physical issue then you would have ED issues all the time.

welcome NGJ

your are among friends here any they are very knowledgeable in all aspects and stages. We share stories to help others that may have the same problems. Every case on here is different so keep an open mind. We are all going through allot and every one needs the moral support.

I can only imagine being your age and having this problem, just hang in there and get on here if you have questions/

As far as getting in sooner. you can just tell the person making the scheduling that IF they have a late cancellation you would be able to come in on a moments notice.  It MIGHT work, Dr's don't like slake time in their scheduling.
