El Dude

Hello everyone,

El Dude-erino here. I'm glad to have finally arrived.  :)

I'm a long time peyronie's sufferer from the UK, now 30 years old. I had an accident that caused peyronie's when I was first discovering masturbation at the age of 13/14, but I didn't realised it was that until many years later when I self-diagnosed at the age of 18. Being so young I didn't know what to do at the time and left things as they were because luckily there wasn't too much physical pain.

I've been in long-term relationships over the years and thankfully it hasn't caused any major difficulties, except psychological trauma and having to learn to live with oneself and be happy with who I am. Over the years I have tended to worry a lot and try and hide these physical aspects of myself, even from long-term partners, but I am currently single and in a good place at the moment and so attempting to challenge myself and 'dissolve' some of the deeper issues that have been causes of great worry and anguish over the years...

I was referred within the NHS many years ago, as well as more recently and was unimpressed with their clinical answer that "surgery is the only solution". So right now I'm looking at practical methods of non-invasive treatment which I can try. In particular, after lurking here some time ago, I feel that VED might be worth a shot. I'm also interested in traction devices as an alternative method due to the studies reporting their success (albeit from small experimental groups). If anyone has insight into weighing up the pro's and cons and comparing these methods, this info would be invaluable to me right now as I'm ready to purchase a device and get stuck in.

Lastly it's great to be among so many other chaps who have been dealing with this life-changing problem. I look forward to joining in with the discussions and offering help where I can. Huge thanks to those who contribute and make this special place possible.

My advice to anyone else out there is that worse things CAN happen and that with help from friends, family and others it is possible to reach a stage where you can accept yourself for what you are. Crucially I have learnt that it is possible to turn the negative aspects of this disease into positive opportunities to learn important lessons about yourself, along the way. I'm still learning lots and I look forward to continuing and sharing this process.

Many thanks and see ya around,

-El Dude

Welcome to the forum. It is really the right place to get information and help from people that are many years in the subject, many that by now are Peyronie's free, but still with us to help others.

To give you some advice or opinion on what may help you and what not, we need some more information regarding your Peyronie's.
You have not stated if you have plaques, calcification, ED etc'. It seems also you get to the wrong uro, and they are many.

Let us know more about your situation, so members can jump in with some advice and they opinion.
