Hi!

I had a penile trauma 4 weeks ago, having sex with my wife. I slipped out of her by mistake while having intercourse and hurt my willie. It sort of bended in an erect state and it hurt like hell. Two days later it was still very sore so I went to the hospital for a checkup. They made a visual control and ruled out "Penis fracture" due to the fact that I could still have an erection and there were no signs of bleeding (not visible on the outside at least).

However, after 1-2 weeks I noticed a lump on the shaft midway up to the glans. The lump is circumferent in shape and covers half my penis circumference on the left side. On top of that my penis is also showing a bend to the left.

Last week I went to see a urologist about my concerns. He said that given my story it was highly likely that the lump is a scar, either in the Corpus Cavernosum or the Tunika albuginea, secondary to the trauma. He also made a visible control and commented that it looked much like the scars of a certain connective tissue disease (he meant Peyronies Disease).

The urologist told me to live normally, make sure I get an erection a couple of times every week and hope for a good natural healing process.

My own approach, before I made the connection to Peyronies Disease, was to immediately start an oral intake of extra zink, magnesia, L-arginine and vitamin E. This is an approach I have used in the past for healing wounded skeletal muscles.

So, my question to all of you, how should I look upon this problem. Should I treat it as Peyronies Disease even though the scar came from blunt trauma? The scar process should be the same whatever the reason for the scar?

Thanks,

Scar tissue in the penis, from whatever cause, is Peyronie's disease. From reading many posts here I would guess that most men here got this disease from minor trauma during sex, just like I did.

Scar formation in the penis for men who are prone to Peyronie's is different than scar formation in the rest of the body. One reason for this is that although the penis is a very vascular organ, the tunica albuginea is not, and this relative lack of nutrients and oxygenated blood may be one reason for prolonged inflammation and deposition of collagen (scar tissue). This is why pentox is sometimes effective in reducing Peyronie's inflammation because it thins the blood and makes red blood vessels "squishy" so they can fit better into small blood vessels.

My advice would be to get on pentox and read the forum section on the VED, which many use here to maintain healthy erectile function and possibly improve curvature.

Thank you for your answer.

I am trying to figure out what oral remedies I should add to those I am already administering. I figure that at this point there is not much else to do than to aid my body as well as I can with vitamins, minerals, enzymes and/or prescribed drugs.

I have been reading today about Pentox, and it seems reasonable that an increased blood flow could assist healing and improve the inflow of nutrients. However, sadly, Pentoxifylline is not available in Sweden  :(.

I am thinking of getting a low-dose prescription of Cialis for the same reason (increased circulation), even though it lacks the benefit of reforming the red blood cells.

Basically, from the information I have read on the Internet the last two days, my urologist was right, "hope for a good natural healing process". Only I will try to help it as much as I can.

Other more invasive procedures are something that could be done later if the outcome is unsatisfactory? Correct me if I am wrong.

Low-dose Cialis is a good choice because it has been shown to stop TGF-beta, a process associated with inflammation and Peyronie's. If erections and sex are not painful, by all means keep getting them. Just be cautious.

Is it possible for you to go abroad to get Pentox? It's usually a very inexpensive drug and I'm sure there are others sources for it. Pentox is usually used to treat peripheral artery disease and I am therefore surprised that it's not available in Sweden. In the United States it is prescribed off-label for Peyronie's, i.e. it has not been FDA approved for Peyronie's but can be prescribed at the doctor's discretion.

Best of luck,

What dosage of Cialis is commonly prescribed for Peyronies syndrome? I was thinking that maybe the 20 mg you buy from the Internet for boosting your sex-life is a tad bit too much for long-term use.

About Pentox, I have found an Internet pharmacy that seems to ship it to Sweden, maybe I´ll try ordering it without prescription. 2x400 mg/day?

I took 400 mg pentox 3 times daily (1200 mg per day total). Some studies, such as one done in Iran, showed positive effects at just 800 mg per day. If you experience unpleasant GI effects, you can try the lower dose. Often times if I did not feel well I would only do 800 mg instead of 1200 mg, but tried to maintain 1200 mg per day as often as I could. My pain went away completely and I saw some minor physical improvements after 8 months on pentox.

Thank you, I will start out with 800 mg to see how I tolerate the Pentoxifylline, then add another 400 mg if I seem to be ok.

How about the Cialis, is 10 mg ok? I have some 20 mg's at home already which can be split into half, so 10 mg would be easy to start (difficult to split them more) with.

I never took Cialis so someone else on the board will have to chime in.

Well you are right, splitting to 5 mg is very difficult.
What I do, is take 10 mg and take every second day.
I personally think that 10 mg every day is too much. I fear, my body will get used to it.
I bought the 5 mg in pharmacy twice, but they are much to expensive. (like 120 € for a 1 month supply)
So now I get the 20mg over the internet and split them in 2 every second day.

The correct amount is totally up to the individual. That is why these drugs come in various strengths. Personally I get the lowest does of the daily Cialis which is 2.5 Mg. And even then I take one every other day. So on a VERY low dose but enough to help me.

Yes Cialis does help with ED.  I wish it didn't give me intense headaches and dry mouth.

Thanks for all the answers!

I started out 3 days ago with 10 mg Cialis in the morning. It has had effects on erections for sure, I get them more often and they last longer. I even get them in unwanted situations; eg. at work, out having a walk. This is a good thing though, my goal with the Cialis was to flush more blood in there on a daily basis. Just have to be careful when erected so often so I don´t get another injury. My urologist said just that, make sure you get erections and stretch out the scarred tissue, BUT be very careful not to hurt yourself again

About the Pentox, I placed an order a couple of days ago, hopefully it will arrive within a week or so.

I finally got some Trental today, will start with 2x400mg daily at first to see how I can cope with them.

About the 10mg daily Cialis I noticed some slight headaches and some hot flushes in the first week, but now my body seem to have adjusted and I have no side-effects. Will go on with the Cialis alongside the Trental.

About non-pharmaceutical treatments, I have also started administering Coenzyme Q10 and Bromelain, on top of the extra zink, magnesia, L-arginine, vitamin D3 and vitamin E (800mg/daily).

Are there any known adverse combinative effects I should be aware of out of all the above?
Does it matter if I take them all together after food (twice daily) or should any of them be taken on an empty stomach?

Thanks guys,

I don't know about the non-pharmaceutical treatments but I am taking the Trental in the middle of my breakfast and dinner as I was adviced by the forum, not after the meal, with no side effects.
When you are taking the L-Arginine?

"Flushing" is typical of the ED medications and also for poppers. I describe it as a sexual rush.

Excuse me for the question, I am an old fashion man (64 year old also), what poppers are?

Solvents similar to sniffing thinners!

Iconoclast

Poppers is isopentyl nitrite. It's an old-time heart remedy, replaced by nitroglycerin and similar drugs. It acts to dilate blood vessels. It's formulated with various organic solvents but not anything like sniffing glue (toluene.) Google it for more info.....

Skjaldborg

Doing poppers and taking Viagra at the same time are a no-no if anyone's wondering. Doing so can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure.
