It's not like I'm a virgin to online forums - but posting on this one....a little odd.

Before I even say anything:   Am I the only one that has issues with the security image required to register and send PMs?  Half the time only 6 or 7 of the characters show up.  And when all 8 show up..and I type them in correctly about 99% of the time it tells me I didn't type them in correctly.  ::)   It took me about 7 tries to get registered!  I have yet to get a PM delivered.  And sending an email to the admin is useless...it doesn't go through.

About 2 or 3 months ago I was in the shower with my significant other and she was...well...soaping me up.  Anyway...I looked down and said:  what the hell!!!

You see..I can't say I often have occasion to look at my erection so who knows how long it's been that way.  But what I saw scared the hell out of me.

It is what is referred to here as an "hourglass" deformity.  Very discernible and quite disturbing.  About 2-2.5 inches from the tip.  Left and right side as viewed looking down.  When viewed from the side....nothing to note.  I have noticed that it seems there is something going on at the base as well (right side only) which tends to make it veer off to the right (....I have always "hung" to the right, but it seems a bit more pronounced these days with an erection).

When I palpate the area I personally can't feel anything in the area of the hourglassing.  But I will say...for several weeks prior to noticing the deformity it seemed like my erections felt....different.

It's impacted my ability to "perform".  I'm afraid if I get too aggressive I'm going to seriously hurt myself.  I'm a structural engineer and I totally get the fact that the hourglass area makes for a wonderful "hinge" if loaded in just the right way. ::)

I'm at the point where I feel I need to see a doctor.  I'm in the Atlanta area and wonder if anyone has any suggestions.

So there you go.  A newbie to the forum.

Shadow.

Welcome aboard.

I also have an hourglass deformity. Usually there is no palpable plaque there. It seems (at least it was what is shown in ultrasound) that there is a diffuse modification that keeps the tissue from stretching. make sure you are on pentox that will certainly slow down the process.
See a doctor immediately but make sure you see an andrologist or urologist specialized in peyronies.

Unfortunately I am in europe and would not be able to find you one.

Be proactive, I mean start with pentox and other supplements asap.

Good luck

Sorry to hear that you have joined the ranks of the Peyronies Disease family! You should send Cowboyfood a private message or even post here about seeking his assistance in locating a good uro or sexual therapist in the Atlanta area. Atlanta is his home turf and I am sure he can steer you in the right direction for a good doctor specializing in Peyronies Disease and/or ED.

Thanks guys!

I'll try PMing Cowboyfood again (I had a hell of time last night doing that...never managed to get it to go).

Pentox..is that over the counter stuff?

Shadow.

Pentox requires a prescription from a doctor. At least that is the case in Canada and the USA

Here is the best way to send Cowboyfood a PM. Open the home page of the forum by logging in. On the home page there is a link to the members file, so click on it and let it open. Then you can scroll down in the paged until you find Cowboyfood's I.D. name. Click on it and it will bring up his profile page.

At the bottom of his profile page, you will find a link that says send this member a private message. Click on it and it will bring up the page where you can type your message to him. Click the spell check link to edit it for mistakes and when it finished, click the send link and it should be sent on to him.

In the meantime, I will email him to watch for your PM as well as read your posts on the forum.

Regards, Old Man...

PS: The members link also appears on any topic/thread page. So, you can click on it there to go to the members profile file.

Hey, Shadow contacted me and he fortunately had made an appointment with the same urologist I see and recommend, Dr. Chad Ritenour.

Dr. R endorses daily use of the VED and prescribes pentox...He had me on Pentox for 2.5 years.

A quick update, my left side dent has really "subsided" over the last few months and is not that noticeable, even more so than when I last gave a brief update . . . if you're keeping score.

I did stop pentox use about 3 months ago and at the same time I started a daily dose of 5mg of Cialis.  Always continued using VED at least 4-5 times weekly.

mike67....thanks!  I guess that's what google is for. ::)

Old Man....yeah, I did manage to get a PM to cowboyfood.  There is some issue with my doing that from home (works just fine at the office).

Cowboyfood...thanks for the PM replies.

Getting some good info here!

I was reading somewhere else (can't recall where) that the VED could be harmful if mis-used, but I guess that would be true of any method (mechanical or chemical).

Thanks again guys!

I am known as the VED guru on the forum since it has been my main method of remedy for my Peyronies Disease over the past 18 years or so. Prostate cancer surgery left me totally impotent due to the nature of the surgery and it serves as the medium for me to have sex with no problem.

If you read back over the posts listed on the VED board of the home page index you will note many of them are about the pros and cons of VED therapy. You can glean a whole lot of information by reading through these posts.

As with any treatment/therapy, there are some minor risks with VED therapy. The watchword for VED therapy is to follow a regimen of exercises prescribed in one or the other protocols for using the one cylinder and three cylinder VED. And, not to overpump the vacuum pressure at any time. If any pain or discomfort is experienced when using the VED therapy, stop immediately, let any trauma heal before starting over with a regimen. Less vacuum pressure is much better than more with VED therapy.

We all are here to help in any way, so feel free to ask any and all questions at any time.

Thanks Old Man (...that seems awfully disrespectful  :D)!

I just spent an hour reading on the VED board....wow!

Haven't scheduled an appointment yet to see a doctor....but if that's the prescribed treatment I'm going to have to set aside some time in my day!!  And with three kids in the house (13-17)...I've got my work cut out for me. ::)

No, Old Man is not disrespectful simply because I am old - 82 and nearing 83 years old. Still do my workouts at the YMCA and keep in somewhat good shape for my years. Have had many surgeries over the years, but still going fairly strong physically.

Just tell the kids that you doing therapy, but don't relate what for, etc.
