Maybe they are known already, (but were new to me).

Just ran into a couple of studies about traction devices:

A) This one is Andropenis (its the only "medically approved" traction device here in europe)
This study shows small results as to curvature but larger patient satisfaction because of size gain.
http://www.andromedical.com/pdf/en/study_penile_extender_device_treatment_penile_curvature.pdf

B) This one (Case Study) is done in Great Britain. Sees Andropenis as a good alternative treatment
http://www.andropenis.com/pdf/en/study_treatment_options_for%20peyronie_disease.pdf
(attention it is published on the Andropenis Homepage, so this can meen its a "Sponsored Study")

C) This is the resumé of the 5th Congress of the European Society for Sexual and Impotence Research (ESSIR). Hamburg, Germany.
http://www.nature.com/ijir/journal/v13/n4s/pdf/3900746a.pdf
the pages have been scanned and put in pdf, so impossible to search.. scroll down to the middle and in the left column you will find:
"53 CAN AN EXTERNAL PENIS STRETCHER REDUCE PEYRONIE'S PENILE CURVATURE?"
(That is the article i meant)

D) Finally another Italian study abstract, (scanned document 1 page only - right column P-160)
http://www.andromedical.com/pdf/en/study_penis_stretching_effective_for_peyronie_disease.pdf

Maybe they are well known, but as I said, those were new to me.

Cheers for that, always good to have a centralised source for the traction studies.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

I've read one study and seems to match the result I had with traction. Between 1 and 1,5 cm of gain in erect lenght.
I have to report that while ON traction (3-4 hours, 4 days a week) I have better erections and less harder when OFF for a few weeks.

That's said, I have a permanent improvement with curve, and when ON I can add more improvement. I am still stretching hoping that the temporary improvement can be cemented.

Anyway stretching is good for overall health of the penis.

It does seem to be. I've also experienced better erections in the weeks using traction.

This is good stuff,  response to all post negative or positive .We need to hear from all and the therapy they have chosen. Better erection means a better post.

The result of traction is linked to the original lenght and also amount of plaque. I experienced scar softening but it has not dissolved.
It may push the healthy to it's maximum expansion and holds blood better.

It seems I have developped more scar and count on traction to stretch it before it's too late. Dr Levine noticed that best results were seen on young plaques vs calcified ones.

According to the labs who sells extender, traction creates new cells by force mitosis, but according to other point of view, it just makes the cells longer and bigger, but don't duplicate themselves.
Some men with an intensive routine dedicated to penile enlargement have seen impressive results so it can be worthy to invest time and effort into traction.

Up-to what extent traction therapy is successful? What is it's success rate in Arthritis?

Ben

I honestly think that with traction, the most you've lost with peyronie, the most you can gain with traction.
In the first 6 months period it's quite easy to achieve lenght and girth gain.

I've been stretching for 1 1/2 year. I've gain maybe 1,5 cm in lenght (spl and erect), but have lost some since few weeks ago, so I am back to more dedicated stretching.

You will have to cope with soreness, plateauing, lack of time. Really need motivation, but really worth it.

I have used Google for some hours trying to find out if penis traction devices is a scam or not. For the time being I am quite sure that these devices is a scam. I have found no serious studies that conclude that these devices can reduse penile curvature or lengthen  penis. University pages do either not mention penis traction devices or they have no confidence in them. Very few or no urologists recommend  the traction devices.  Peyronie.org, which seems very serious and informative, do not mention them. Wikipedia has refence to three studies on traction devices. Do You think that any of these are serious and recommend the devices? Take my advice: Use Google a couple of hours before You use a penis traction device  8 hours a day for 6 month. When reading studies try to figure out if they are serious.

It is always good to google for a few hours if you want to find something and get to conclusions

But as I know Luciano for some time, I mean from the forum, not personally, his posts are always based on hours of searching.

Personally I am not using stretching device but from reading the posts on the Peyronies forum including this topic, other forums and blogs, not commercial websites, I get to conclusion that stretching devices due help many people.
In addition to improvements of the users, some leading uro's are including traction devices in they treatments.

Actually i did try out to figure out which were serious and which not. This post is over one year old. (april 2011)
As a matter of fact, in the meantime some very serious studies have come out,
one by laurence levine who is one of THE peyronies specialists world wide.
i posted it here: https://www.peyroniesforum.net/index.php/topic,2345.msg35946.html#msg35946

Personnaly i do not think its a scam, but you must know what you are doing, and what you are ready to accept.

If i read these boards, i must aknowledge that reports by users I trust speak about positive results.
But like always, we do know its not a miracle cure. Like the ved, it can though help under certain circumstances.

I believe traction works and there are lots of anecdotal reports - see the many discussion forums. However, I also believe there are plenty of scams - for example:

"Traction works with only 1 hour a day" = FALSE

$400 or $700 extenders are necessary = FALSE

Cheap extenders (eBay) are trash = FALSE

I am with you100%.
Your statements are right for many other overpriced items also.
