Painful Urination and Painful Nocturnal Erections

I've had pain for the last 4+ years and urologists have been no help in the least.  I tried pentox for about a week or so in June and it caused a spike in my anxiety disorder.  So I'm off that right now.  The last week or so I've been experiencing a marked increase of pain.  I've been sleeping most nights with ice packs on my penis. Last night I got up around midnight to pee and it felt like I was peeing razor blades.  Then around 2:30 got up again and very little pain.  Also I've been having early AM erections (or partial erections) and afterwards I have an "achy" type of pain...different from the other which is more like burning. As I've mentioned on other threads, back in Jan/Feb I started to get these episodes where my stream will start, I'll get very anxious, start shaking and the stream will abruptly shut off which causes sometimes intense pain.  This usually happens during my last pee of the night before going to bed or at a time when I'm stressed for one reason or another. I really don't know what to do next.  I got in touch with one of the Peyronie's "experts" often mentioned on this forum and he said that he did not treat "primary pain syndromes", and suggested I see a pain management specialist.  My wife called the best pain management clinic in the area and they said I'd have to go to a neurologist first and present them with his findings. (I've learned through my experiences with urologists that most don't want to hear about pain).  My main question is, "Does anyone reading this have pain associated with urination?"  I've had this before and had urine checked and it was clear of any bacterial infection.

Fred,

Do you have BPH in addition to Peyronies Disease?  I do...and they can both be very painful and irritating.  I would think something as common as aspirin would possibly help with the pain; it may be caused by inflammation and aspirin can definitely help.  I take Flomax and saw palmetto to help with urination.  Flomax is prescription only and saw palmetto is over the counter.

Also, I started taking low doses of Viagra (as part of my PAV cocktail) on a daily basis a couple of weeks ago and it seems to really help with urination.  I had previously noticed my urine stream was always stronger after taking Viagra when I was using it for sex.

You might also try sitting down to pee...that takes a lot of pressure off your prostate and seems to help me empty my bladder better.

No BPH as of my last exam which was last June (2009).  It's time for an exam.  I've often thought of trying saw palmetto.  Even bought some one time, but for some reason never used it.  Are there any side effects?  Thanks for the suggestion.  Fred

Fred,

I have used saw palmetto for three or four years and have never had any side effects.  You can Google it on line and get a lot of information.  It's been around for years and is relatively cheap to buy.  I take one capsule in the morning and one at bedtime.

Give it a try, it sure seems to help me.

How long did it take to notice results from the saw palmetto?

Fred 22,

I am now 25 years old and have suffered painful urination and micro amounts of blood in my urine since I developed Peyronies Disease in my early teens. I still suffer painful urination almost once a month. My theory is the Peyronies Disease scar has damaged my urethra and caused a stricture of some kind.
