Does it get worse before it gets better?

I got an appointment with a (useless) Urologist immediately when I noticed a slight curve in my formerly perfectly straight penis. The uro was a bad joke. Anyways, I started doing manual traction, heat, and some VED with a store bought device for like $10. Used these therapies gently and carefully. Every time I look at my penis it's different. Maybe it always was "changing", but I never really looked at it much in the past. So, yeah, it seems to be getting worse. I don't masterbate often. Maybe once every week or two. The other day I got an erection and it was mortifying to me. So... is it normal to see it get worse before it gets better? I took action so quickly that maybe it would have gotten worse on its own, but I wonder if these "home remedies" are a good idea at this point. Any thoughts?

Thank you (in advance)

I would say that what you are doing does not typically cause things to get worse but most do not see worsening even initially.  It might be a sign they are not working.  To be accurate, these are not "home remidies".  VED's are recommended by well known, noted urologists.

Thank you for your reply. It doesn't usually get worse initially? Do you mean that most people just wake up one morning with a curvature, out of nowhere, and it just stays exactly that way or gets better? I only noticed my first symptoms (a curve just below the head) a few months ago. Now it seems to have changed for the worse. To be clear, I only referred to a heating pad, traction by hand, and a VED bought at a sex shop as home remedies because my lousy urologist looked me straight in the eye and said he had "never seen any device, shots, or pills working for anyone in his 20 years as a urologist". He also said "if it gets worse you may consider surgery, but your insurance won't pay for it". So I've been conservatively (not every day, and not too aggressively) using these three techniques/methods for about a month.

As we have said before, your urologist is flat out wrong. The science on the home treatments is very solid and the best urologists prescribe them (at least traction and VED).

The disease does tend to get bad at first in the active phase, and then get better with the treatments. My active phase lasted nearly a year. The penis takes a long time to heal and that's why I recommend that all men do NoFap or limit sexual activity to once a week or once every two weeks with NO erection checking.

Hi Neo, I'm Meridian Heights - ASMR from youtube. Thanks for the reply. I called my urologists office today and am waiting for a call back. I'm going to ask for prescriptions for whatever they can give me that my insurance will cover. In the mean time I'm just doing everything I see in your vids. BTW Thank you for the videos. This forum is just too vast and frightening to spend too much time on. Too many contradictory opinions and "results" too. Your vids are easy to understand, and you're sharing what works for you. I like that. You're a good person.

I talked to my urologist yesterday. He directed me to an article (a few years old) on the American Urological Association website which states that doctors should not prescribe or recommend anything to patients who are in the active phase of peyrione's. He also said I should consider contacting Dr Levine (a Peyronies Disease specialist in Chicago), and that I don't need a referral to do so. So, I guess my doctor is just doing his job and trusting the info from the A.U.A. I am going to continue with what I am doing (manual traction, heat pad, and very conservative VED with my store bought device). Besides that I guess it's just a waiting game until my symptoms are stable. Wish me luck, please. I wish you all the best of luck too. Here's a link to the A.U.A. article https://www.auanet.org/guidelines/peyronies-disease-guideline
