Hey all.  46 year old here, diagnosed in 2017.  Having girl-on-top sex with my wife and she leaned back too far. I felt the pop and knew right away what had happened.  Have been to urologist off and on, not much help, although he is now working to get me xiaflex injections.  I hate any kind of shot, much less to THAT part of my body.  But if the insurance approves it I'll probably go through with it.

The curve and resulting unevenness of my dick makes penetration with my wife very painful for her.  We've used mostly manual stuff for the last two years, and I sorely miss the penetration. She misses the intimacy associated with it, too.

Have lost a bit of length over the last two years; have been on both PEGym and Thunders looking for ways to resolve that, but now I think the injections will be my best shot at some kind of normalcy.

Would love to hear other guys' experiences. And not to sound creepy, but before and after pics would be greatly appreciated. I know every case is different, but I'd really love to know there's a good chance for some good improvement.

Thanks to you all - glad to be here.

I had two bends -down in the middle and up just behind the glans. I had 8 rounds (2 injections per round) of Xiaflex injections at a major medical institution-  yes 16 different days - sometimes multiple spots per time. I'm not telling you to do as I did as everyone is different however I used Restorex from the beginning and was very aggressive with it (used it the same day as injections even though I was bruised and sore sometimes - doctor said to do this) and also very aggressive with my manual stretching( basically pulled as hard as I could) but gentle with both if that makes sense-no tugging- rather gradual.  My results are very very good. Straight - unbelievable. Gained length and girth back. I would say and wife would say it's back to normal. Long tough process. Emotional rollercoaster. Insurance paid a bunch of money. Wow. I did what I needed To do with traction and manual stretching and injections.  Hated it but did it. So thankful. Good luck.

Xiaflex and the exercises worked for me. Doctor didnt mention traction. Straight enough to have sex. Still have some calcification so not completely straight. You have it working for many and not working for others like Tdix etc. This is like treatment for any other disease. One size doesnt fit all
5 Rounds of Xiaflex. Good results.

Well - the urologist got the Xiaflex approved by my insurance company (BCBS).  Got a call from the pharmacy yesterday for me to authorize them to ship the first cycle (2 injections) to the urologist.  I said absolutely, and then she asked for a credit card for my co-pay.
I asked how much it would be - $$3509.31 IS MY COPAY for 2 injections / 1 cycle.  And the doc is recommending 6 cycles....
When I laughed, she said I may qualify for a co-pay "forgiveness" program from the manufacturer which could take the co-pay "down" to "only" $1109.31 for each cycle.
Looks like I'll continue with other therapies for now.
Bought an ultrasound machine from a friend of mine who is a PT - going to try DMSO, iodine, and Vitamin E, rubbing the compound into the plaque and then ultrasound on top of that.
Also going to ask the urologist about verapamil cream to do the same - rub in to the plaque.

Thoughts? Advice?

Would you take out a second mortgage and do the shots?

I'd start right away w pentox, traction/VED. If you can afford the injections, def be sure to include at least traction to maximize the improvement.  If penetration is impossible, sounds like it might be worth it, or change insurance plans and do it then. WOW! i was worried that insurance would not cover cost. Can I ask a question? Is it painful to have sex or are you having a problem staying hard? I have a drastic bend and my wife and I still enjoy sex, but I know it can NOT be as good for her as it use to be. I have lost length and girth. Try having sex in a position that is comfortable to you both. Good luck.
Oh! and i feel the same way....not gross, but the pics to help me and makes me realize that I am not alone.

Hey JCH - thanks for the reply.  Sex is more a pain thing than a stay hard thing. Of course, I AM 52 years old now, lol, so I suppose ED or not being rock hard (miss my 20s!!!) is going to be a reality of life here soon.  But for my wife it's the pain.  Sometimes she's ok with trying but then the look on her face as I'm inside her breaks my heart. She's trying to grin and bear it, but the look on her face I want to see is of pure ecstasy, not discomfort, lol.  So I'll pull out (literally) and sometimes we look for other options to finish, sometimes the mood is killed and we're done, so to speak....
I think the angle must hurt, plus as I've lost length I seem to be thicker in the areas of the hourglass, so maybe it's a combination that makes the girth uncomfortable plus the angle.
What has worked for you and yours?
Do you wind up taking matters into your own hands as I often do...? lol

My wife and I still enjoy sex...."taking matters into my own hands" is not as enjoyable as it use to be due to my bend.  I really feel like there must be a position that you and your wife can both enjoy together.  Keep trying for the perfect angle and position to enjoy it!   Hang in there!
