plaque growth
« on: April 23, 2019, 04:40:54 AM »

Hi.I've been in the acute phase since deccember 17 although i now realise i had pre peyronies off and on for a year before that. I'm just wondering if others have the same problem with the plaque increasing in size. It started the size of a pea and has now increased to nearly width of my penis and similar in length, probably 2.5cm each way. I go through periods where it seems to stabalise, then it seems to have a spurt of inflammation maybe due to stress or overdoing it on traction/ved.
I just don't know what to do really i've tried all the supplements and physical therapies and these seem to keep my penis healthy but nothing has reduced the plaque size or curvature which is now about 55 degrees and still painful when erect, i can still have sex.
My latest inflammation spurt at the base of the plaque has given me a bit of flacid pain and hard flacid but its not too bad.But it's just depressed me that just when i think it's stabalising it suddenly gets worse again. i kind of worry that the plaque will just get bigger and bigger ntil nothing can help it and i wont be able to have sex anymore and i'm wondering if anyoneelse has had this in the first couple of years, just looking fr abitof hope really.

Thanks phil

Many people have what you describe. I also still get pain and worsening of the deformity and I had this since the age of 17. I’m 24 now. I use pentox and treat my penis very carefully, but once in a while more inflammation just happens. I haven’t been able to figure out why this happens and what to do about it and neither have doctors.

The acute phase can often last 6-12 months.  Have you checked out the survival guide?  Peyronies Survival Guide - Information for New Members - Peyronies Society Forums

I've been acute for 18 months but i had painful erections and a very small lump in the same place a year earlier which went away when i had a 3 month treatment with viekera and ribivirin for hepatitis. So you coud say i've had it for 30 months.
Do most peoples plaque grow and go through periods of inflammation during this period? I'm concerned that the traction causes microtears around the plaque which are getting replaced with collegan rather than healthy tissue. I think that traction and VED do my penis good but tend to aggravate the scar.

There doesn’t seem to be any evidence that traction or VED fosters scarring, in fact just the opposite.  But, if either are uncomfortable and aggravating your condition-please listen to your body.
