Hi there guys,

I developed my scar tissue, an hour Glass shape scar after a 6-hour erection caused due to a penile injection done as part of a Doppler UT test that was testing an existing ED issue.

I am interesting to come in contact with people with a similar experience. People that experienced priapism from injections and how did their penises changed after the priapism incident.

Thank you in advance!

Hey man. A couple of questions:

-did your doctor informed you about the risks of doing an ultrasound with injection test for erection?
-do you have any medical condition? Sickle cell anemia?
-did you have a priapism before?
-was your penis cold, dark/blue after 6 hours of erection?
-how did your erection came down? By itself? Sudafed? Phenylephrine? Surgery? Draining?
-did you talk to your doctor about it?

-how long ago was this?
-do you have worse ed after this event?
-are you currently on ed medications? Viagra? Cialis?....

Please, answer all these questions. I didn't have the same as you, but I am informed on the consequences and what causes it and can give you some input.

1. I was not informed on the risks for scarring just by 1 injection. I was told after the injection that I might have a long erection. He told me I can go to work during the day, and if the erection exceeds 4 hours use ice to try make it go down. If that does not work then come back to the hospital as it is dangerous. This is what I did

2. I don't have any other medical conditions.

3.  Had only one priapism, that was about 6-6:30 hours, and that was caused from the injection for the UT test.

4. It was only feeling painful after a few hours and a bit swollen at the side of the injection.

5. The erection came down by itself after about 6-6:30 hours. Basically once I left the office to rush to the hospital, and got on my bike, the erection went down.

6. Yes he said it wasn't something to worry about. It was going to cause irreversible damage only if I had exceeded 12 hours he said. I don't believe him though and we are not in good terms. This happened 5 years ago, and I have visited several different doctors since then. It happened in the Netherlands in 2014, and now in live in London, UK. I am actually in the process of filing a second medical negligence claim against this doctor. The first 1 got rejected in 2016. The injection included the medication Androskat.

7. My ED got definitely worst. This is because after the priapism incident I developed a circular scar at the base of my penis, that is definitely affecting my erections and causes pain when the penis is erected as well as when it is flaccid. Without at least 5mg of cialis or viagra is impossible to have good enough erections for intercourse now. Before I could do spontaneously without medication. The problem initially ( before the injection I mean) was that the erections had become a bit softer that what they used to be for an unexplained reason over the period of a few months, I needed constant stimulation to keep them up, and I was suffering from premature ejaculation, this what had drove me to do the UT test in the first place.

- I had started noticing the scar/ inflammation and the worst ED problems about 3-4 weeks after the priapism incident.

8. I have accepted that damage has been caused by that test. I am not sure whether that was just by the needle going into the penis or by the 6-6:30 hour erection, and probably I will never find out. Even doctors that I visited after that event were not able to give me a definite answer on this.

I did UT tests without injection to evaluate the damage afterwards and the doctors couldn't see anything strongly noticeable. However I have the pain, and I feel the circular constricting scarring band at my penis when I have erections.

What I am looking for at the current time:

1. Come in contact with people that have had experience priapism either with injections or without injections. It is very important for me to listen and understand the experiences of different people as I believe this will help me understand my problem better as well. It is also easier to discuss a negative personal experience with people that have had similar negative experiences. It makes you feel better and at ease.

2. To find ways to keep the scar/ damage to what it is now, definitely prevent it from becoming worst, and try to make it better if possible.

3. Try to improve my erections.

4. Decide on whether to proceed with Ultrasound shockwave therapy for improving my erections, and possibly the scar.

5. File and win this time a new medical negligence case against this doctor that has put me through all this.

Thank you

Thank you for getting back to me. I will write a proper reply later on. Currently at work.

Hi Pfract,

I am waiting for your more detailed response on my previous post in case you have the time to write one.

I would really appreciate it!

I would also like to ask you if you are aware of any organized meetings, such as munches for example, with people that are suffering from peyronies disease, ED, or have experienced others penile problems such as priapism for example.

If such a thing does not exist it will be a good idea to create it using the forum. Create groups for people at certain locations, for example London, and organize meetings such as munches to discuss these problems, and share opinions and personal experiences.

I am looking forward for your response.

Thanks!

KC, I don't know that I've heard of peyronies after one injection.  Also, one would think the scarring would happen at/near the injection site.  Was yours at the base where you feel the construction?  You can get an ultrasound (while soft) that can identify if you have plaque where you feel the construction.  Be sure to get a specialist in andrology and peyronies.  Have you read the survival guide for ideas on how to address peyronies?  Peyronies Survival Guide - Information for New Members - Peyronies Society Forums
You can find great support here, who know maybe some London guys would like to meet in person-maybe start a thread for that under ED and/or peyronies.

The scarring could either be due to the injection itself or due to the 6-hour erection it had caused me. I guess I would never know.

The scarring has developed like a ring, hour Glass, near the base of the penis. It is painful often but the worst is that it has deteriorated my erections significantly. It is impossible to have a good erection for sex without at least a low dose of Cialis.

Hey KC2. I apologize for such a late reply. I got carried away with work and ended up forgetting.

https://www.auanet.org/guidelines/priapism-guideline

This is one of the best links in terms of management of the Priapism by doctors. Contains immense information, on the different types, of priapisms and what the doctors think it's best to do. The American urological association is the best one, worldwide.

If you are left with Ed following this episode, than its permanent. Just like Ed is permanent after a penile fracture. The severity of Ed, for both of our conditions will depend on the amount of trauma that was caused. Whilst you can try shockwave therapy, I am yet to see anybody both online or in person state that they had their ed improved by pursuing that treatment.

You have to start with the pills and see if they work well on you, and if you like the erection they give you. After that you have the Ved and the injections, but you already know what they might cause and you have to be careful.

I didn't see mentioned here what you use to manage your ed currently so I assume that it's nothing. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

I am not aware of meetings or events for this, for very obvious reasons. I can't imagine guys sitting down at the local pub and talking about ''how they can't get their penis up'' or ''how bad their sex life just became after gaining weight''.... These are very private matters and there is a huge stigma talking about this.

Hell, it's hard for people to open up themselves online in this very board, to show proof of the success of their procedures or treatments let alone in person face to face...

I tried many times to reach out to others here, try to talk via  anonymous phone call and it's been extremely difficult.

I add that I have an anonymous Skype account, that we can add each other that I will send you through pm and we can chat via voice if you want, provided we schedule it properly.
