PD13

Hi All

So, I first noticed a lump back in Feb 18. The usual internet search eventually helped me self diagnose Peyronies Disease. Diagnosed by Doctor in August 2018. Seemed to get worse Oct 18 which is when I first experienced pain during erection and/or intercourse. Curve soon followed (currently 35 degree upwards).

MRI scan taken Dec 18 shows no tear and no significant build up of plaque. Shadows seen on scan suggest scar tissue.

Urologist has given me two options; Nesbitt or ride the pain out and live with the curve. First think medication or injection will help at my stage.

Surgery last resort in all honesty. It isn't guaranteed to reduce/cure pain and the risk associated to it puts me off.

Anyone else in/been in similar situation and found anything has helped. I have a very supportive wife and wonderful children. Any advice would be gladly received

Thank you

5 Rounds of Xiaflex. Good results.

Thanks guys. Done a bit of reading in that and whilst I realise it's certified, there appears to be considerable risk associated in taking it?

There is a risk in any treatment. Most people do ok with xiaflex. All meds have a long list of possible side effects. Get an experienced xiaflex doctor is important.  All depends on how bad you want a straighter penis

Urologist said that he wouldn't opt for collagen injections based on stage in at. He feels that they wouldn't have any effect. Think I need to get a second opinion possibly. I can deal with a bend I think, and erection is fine in terms of rigidity, just painful. I think that's why he's reluctant

The painful erection stage was over when I got the injections. I went to the doctor when it shortened , thinned and bent.  Not knowing what I had. That was a short time after the painful stage.   He may be right to wait

I don't agree with waiting. Faster to get treatment, the better IMO. Waiting, depending on the person, calcification can set in. Starting supplements and maybe Pentox could help slow, stop the progression. I don't believe waiting is the right thing to do. Just imho.
Early 50s, 7 months diagnosed. 55 degree curve, indentation at base to the left.

I also agree with not waiting. Starting therapy now could help prevent the curve from getting worse. Mine started out at about 35-40 degrees and then progressed to 70+.
