So, Dr. Gelbard, developer of xiaflex and empirically good for the community before retirement, left his practice to Dr. Chandrasoma. I haven't seen any reviews from anyone who has visited him or been treated by him on here. Just curious, if anyone has any experience, good or bad with Dr. Chandrasoma?

I've read a lot of bad reviews about him on google etc. Or, if anybody can recommend a doctor who practices Xiaflex treatment in California? I have Blue Shield Platinum PPO and am ready to get started.

any info is much appreciated!

I believe there is a thread on xiaflex doctors here.  Dr Karpman in Mountain View and Dr Lue in SF are two good ones.
PxD 2 yrs 9/16.  Failed all treatment. 9/11/18: excision, grafting & implant Dr Karpman MtnView Ca, AMS CX 18cm + 3-1cm RTEs.
Pump failed.  2/11/20 Dr Karpman installed Titan 22cm +1cm RTE.

I can recommend Shanin Chandrasoma, MD as a personable and competent medical professional. I previously had two xiaflex courses with Dr Gelbard and another urologist from the practice as a basis of this commendation, with all due respect to adverse experiences cited "on the net" and non-specific to Xiaflex treatment from what i've seen.

Dr Chandrasoma has run a couple more cycles of xiaflex and provided both a pre-emptive disclaimer on expectations since i have some Peyronies Disease+calcification, but also mustered a "go for it" and "it takes time" commentary on my choice to add the PMP to my modelling regimen...without endorsing the product.  I find this type of systematic and pragmatic approach to treatment - since i am an engineer - to be 100% acceptable.  His optimism and insistence on daily modelling worked for me, as I don't respond as much to somebody that wants to blow sunshine up my backside

It definitely took four treatments before seeing some results, and frankly getting some of the requisite "torque" needed took some experimentation on my part. I may bite the bullet on a RestoreX rig, given some of the positive experiences cited on this board

While ymmv, i have found the doctor and the office staff fine people on every visit.

Best regards

Congrats tpp, glad yo hear it's going pretty well.  I too believe adding traction to xiaflex improves outcomes.

I use to see Dr. Gelbard. I saw Dr. Chondrosoma twice. They both had the wait and see approach even though I've had curving and slight hour glassing since Dec 2016. I went to Dr. Lue and he said the same thing even though 6 months ago I lost a inch of length girth. He did the ultra sound and said he could barely see any plaque. My plaque spots are on the side he said the tunica is thinner on the sides and said if he gave me xiaflex it would rupture.

So what is my next step?

Seems like my plaque is so small Doctors can't really see or feel it. I have severe ED, multiple lump and indents. Why won't they give me xiaflex? Seems like everyone else gets recommended it.
32 yrs old had slight left bend starting at 29. Started Pentox and cialsis 2 years later developed multiple plaques on both sides one on top. Lost 1 inch of length and girth after multiple plaques became present. Now pentox 1x a day and 2.5 of ciali

Bueller, I would trust dr Lue if he says xiaflex is not safe in your case.  I'd try pentox, low dose daily PDE5i, traction and even consider adding VED.  Give it a good 6 months to see progress.

Thanks for the response. I've been taking pentox and cialis. My condition just keeps getting worse. I take 2.5 to 5 mg of cialis daily. Do you think I should take more cialis? What do you think is the best to try to get back girth?
