I've been to two different urologists now and I have an appointment to see another one on January 31. It's going to be a female urologist this time and I'm a little uncomfortable showing pics of my penis to a woman. I keep reminding myself it's just medicine but part of me thinks the previous urologist referred me to her out of spite. He seemed offended when I wouldn't agree to let him do the surgery and instead asked for another referral.

Even though I've got a third urologist visit lined up, I don't carry high hopes anything useful will come of it. I'm unsure of how to proceed at this point. After doing some research I learned about the STAGE technique. From what I've learned, I think I'd prefer it instead of the standard Nesbit procedure. The fact the excisions are smaller, and that absorbable (instead of permanent) sutures are used, excited me. But it seems like the only doctors who perform it live outside the US. Does anyone know if any urologists besides Drs. Egydio and Kuehhas can do it? I don't have the resources to travel outside the US. I would have to call on my parents to make all sorts of special arrangements for me to go and the idea of having my parents fly me out of the country so I can have surgery on my penis makes me cringe.

Apparently since my curve is biplanar (it curves down and left) correcting it is going to be especially difficult. I feel it's necessary to see the best surgeon I can. Both the urologists I've seen told me they could fix it and that they have very high patient satisfaction, but I was still apprehensive. The first doctor looked like he was in his late 20s or early 30s and I questioned his experience. The second doctor said he only performed a handful of plications a year. I told them both no but am I being too picky? Having the surgery locally in Virginia would be ideal.

Whatever I decide I just hope I can get this problem corrected this year. Although I'm gay and don't use my penis for sex the fact it doesn't look normal majorly effects my self-esteem and confidence. When it's time for clothes to come off I feel embarrassed and I don't want anyone to engage with it. I wish I could just will myself to be confident and not care but I've never been that sort of person. I just need to look and feel as normal as possible. This curvature issue makes me feel deformed and broken. Anyone have any thoughts on what I could do?

Female doctors have seen it all. Go through many years of training and schooling like their male counter parts. Maybe even more sympathetic and caring than males. They see your penis like any other body part they try and heal. The problem is YOURS not theirs. Just treat them with respect and you will get that in return

I have the exact same curve as you Raindrops, please keep us posted. Have you had any success with traction devices?

Raindrops, it looks like you have a cogenital curve which is very healthy and useable.  Have you always had it, does it create any problems for you?   Given the curve folks are going to have an easier job when going down on you if approached from the right angle.  There can actually be advantages to normal curves if not creating any problems.  Surgery can result in shortening and even erectile difficulties.

@Bubba dawg I'm sure she's as well trained as any of the other doctors in her field. That wasn't my concern. My issue is the idea of whipping out my phone and showing pics of my penis to woman is somewhat unsettling. And I disagree with you. If I have a problem with it than the problem is also hers because I'm not going to her. Sure there are other patients in the world, but there are also other doctors. Regardless, I'm going to bear in mind that this is a medical scenario and go with it. If it feels wrong though, than never again.

@Tonysa Yes, it's always been that way unfortunately. I've seen quite a few dicks from my encounters with guys and none of them looked like mine. At most they had an upward curve. It's not so much that it's caused problems for me, so much as the curve is just awkward and makes me feel bad. I've become very aware of my body  and it's quirks since I started having sex. I want it to be straight like a regular penis you know. I'm looking for the best surgeon I can so I won't take an unnecessary risks. I feel like losing a little length wouldn't be that bad as long as my penis ends up straight. It may even make it more proportional.

How about Dr. Joel Gelman? He is male sexual health specialist and he is located at Irvine, CA. He has a good reputation in the forum. It is true that you have to fly over the whole continent, but the price won't be too high unless you go during the travel season

That is funny because I have shown plenty of women my erect penis. Never have shown a man. I would feel more uncomfortable showing a man. My doctor may have been too because he never ask me to show him my erect penis lol

Hi,
Based on other members' experience. I can tell you go to
Dr. Gelman. He does the surgery with absorbable sutures. Some members in this forum had failed surgeries and he helped them. They told me by email that they are very happy with their current results.
The doctor is in the United States. His name Dr.Gelman.
You can contact with him through this website.

And please whatever your choice is, please don't choose a surgery that includes permanent sutures as I did. It was my big mistake and I regret it every single second.
Wish you good luck.
