Hi all,

Found this forum a while ago through some googling and thought I'd ask for some opinions/advice.

I'm a 27 year old male. About 4-5 months ago I first noticed my penis sometimes taking on an hourglass shape - especially when cold or semi-erect. However, I have no pain and my erections look 100% normal. I've been to 3 urologists, all who specialize in Peyronie's, and all who said they're almost certain I don't have it. They all did a physical exam and didn't feel anything abnormal, but said there was nothing more they could do to rule it out. The 3rd one prescribed me some pentox just so I could feel like I'm doing something in case I have it.

It's hard to measure really because sometimes it looks totally normal and sometimes it looks very thin/scrunched in the middle but I'm starting to believe it's getting slightly worse since I first noticed it. It looks especially worse in the following day after I masturbate or have sex. This morning I noticed what feels like a slightly harder band of tissue on the top in the middle where the hourglassing is and I'm freaking out once again.

I should also mention I often have very intense health anxiety. I've convinced myself this is Peyronie's but I've also convinced myself I have cancer or other chronic/terminal diseases dozens of times.

I guess I'm on this forum to seek advice for a few things:

1) Do you think what I'm describing is Peyronie's? Should I be looking for a new urologist, and if so does anyone have any recommendations in NYC?

2) Has anyone had initial symptoms very similar to mine, and had any therapy that worked for them?

3) Most importantly, I am having some very significant anxiety/depression over all this. I truly feel this is the rock bottom of my life and I'm having major suicidal thoughts. A couple weeks ago I admitted myself to the hospital at the advice of my therapist/parents and have been on Lexapro since then. At the moment my dick is fully functional but there are some horror stories on this forum that are truly terrifying to me. I've been a sex addict my whole adult life and the thought of that aspect of my life deteriorating with little chance of improvement fills me with a sense of darkness and doom I can't shake. I'm single and can't imagine finding a girl who is willing to put up with this crap. Any advice for getting past the psychological torture of this disease is much appreciated.

Thanks,
Joe

Really difficult to know or answer this bistro. Especially with no pain at all. There is typical pain during the acute phase, which I had. Also pain with erections as well. Do I have any curvature at all in any direction, something u hadn't had before? If u have no pain or curvature, and have seen 3 urologist who are Peyronies specialist, and at ur young age,  I'd venture to say u don't have it. Do u recall any kind of injury or trauma to ur penis?  With ur high level of anxiety, our minds can be our own worst enemies....

Thanks Tony. The thing that concerned me was a lot of guys on here said it started with no pain for them. I'm not seeing any new curvature. No injury or trauma that I can recall but I know I've been guilty of masturbating too long before.

Penises are synonymous with "health anxiety".  Do NOT whip yourself into a frenzy about possible Peyronies Disease unless you have a very good reason.  Make some very good objective measurements.

1. BPEL
2. BPSFL
3. Erect Girth right behind the head
4. Erect Girth mid-shaft
5. Erect Girth at base

Write them down.  If you want, snap a photo measuring any curve with a protractor.

Put them away and once a month check them.  Unless you have pain or other obvios signs of Peyronies Disease forget it in between times and get on with life.

My opinion on this is, If your penis has changed shape, you most likely have Peyronies. Nothing else is going to cause the penis to bend and change shape. I'm just being real here. I'm 20 and I have it too. Start traction ASAP and you can have a better chance of straightening the curve. I went to the urologist also in August and he said I didn't have peyronies. Since then it has gotten worse and more bent so I started traction.

I doubt a doctor can diagnose over the Internet so I doubt you can without even a photo.  If you read his post you would know he has no curve, he has no pain, and 3 urologists examined him in person and told him they do NOT think he has Peyronies Disease.

I had painful erections then it bent etc. I could not see any plaque formations. 2 doctors could feel the plaque. One was not a urologist. So most doctors can tell you if you have it or not. They just dont go by shape. You could gave other problems causing it to change shape
