Hello!

I'm a 34 year old guy who's had a ventral curve all my life. When I was 19, I went to see a urologist in South America (where I'm from) and he said that it was normal, that I didn't have anything to worry about. I believed him because I had not had any intercourse at the time.

Now, in my thirties, I have found that it wasn't as normal, always been self conscious about it. I have intercourse but it always ends up being painful for the partner or unfortable, and I lose my full erection because of this. I've had times that I just use masturbation or fellatio and avoid intercourse.I saw a urologist in the states  this past December and he said I don't have Peyronies's (which I sort of knew) — he said he wasn't an expert on curvature and Peyronies, but  that I should not worry about it since I didn't have any plaque.

Now I'm going to try and get an appointment with a second urologist, this is an expert in deformities and curvature (had to switch insurance, he wasn't in my network) but I have a big question and a small one.

1. Those who have had Plication of some sort. I've read they have pain during sex and masturbation even months after the surgery. How long does it take to completely heal? Or is it always painful even after months?

2. What's the ratio to length loss?

Thanks! — let me know if I need to post somewhere else.

Hey birobell, welcome to the forum!

I know your struggle. You think you are fine, even doctors tell you that you are fine, but when sex comes into your life, everything just crashes down..

You said that one of your doctors wasn't specialist in penile deformities, so maybe I could recommend you to not look for urologists, but specifically for andrologists. Those people are specialised in all things about penises, while urologist specialise in urinary tract and in some cases a little bit in things about penis deformities.

But hopefully your new urologist will be helpful!

Don't forget that he has to check your penis with sonograph, so that there is not even a little piece of plaque that was not noticed before.

Sorry, I can't completely answer your first question, because it really depends on many things.. Who is going to be your surgeon, what type of sutures will he use (non-absorbable x absorbable), how your healing goes..

One tip that I would give you is, don't go for a surgery with non-absorbable sutures! Those are the cases when people are having problems with sex even months after the surgery.

About the second question.. Again, it really depends. For example how severe is your curve, what's the length of long and short side of the penis, the technique used. Some people report from few milimetres to centimetres.

Best of luck!

Hello Birobell,

We are glad you found the forum, If you have always had the curvature then no it likely not Peyronies but we have a great group of members here that can help with your search for answers.

I have sent you a PM with some helpful links in the forum that can help you find things/topics.

Hey man. You are in luck. Read this topic in full, and then contact Paulo egydio's office. You have very reasonable chances of overcoming this, especially since you are from South America and I presume you won't have much trouble visiting Brazil.

Thank you for the welcome!

I checked the list but it seems that it has only been updated in 2016, am I looking at the right one?

There's many forums and I don't know where to post? — id like to post some pics to know if I've got enough curvature for a surgery. Which one would that be?

Also this is the doctor I'm hopefully seeing in January:

Dr. Oottamasathien

Thanks!

Hey birobell. It seems you have missed the link i sent you. It is a story from a Canadian guy, member of this board that had surgery in Brazil. He had a very successful outcome, and he also had congenital curvature. Recheck the link in my post above. Also, i am going to send a pm with the Doctors address, for you to check.

Anything, please PM. BTW, i have never heard that doctors name. Are you sure he is reputable? what made you choose him?
