Introduction - My Suspected Cause

I've browsed this forum for quite a while - posting today to add what I believe has been my cause, because I've only found it mentioned in a couple places.

I'm 47 - I first began really noticing symptoms at 43
I have not sought medical advice... I suppose out of embarrassment, but more so because the treatment options & associated risks are less appealing to me than just living with it.

My condition seems to be fairly stable now, and without pain. Early on, I experienced painful erections, and could definitely feel the "nodules" near the urethra. That is no longer the case.

I do have what feels like an elongated plaque on the top side - starts at the very base, and runs nearly 3/4 of the present length.

I first noticed symptoms after a very painful ejaculation while masturbating. I had an intense burning sensation - literally like a match had been lit within the urethra, about an inch below the glans. (Of course, my first thought was I had an STD, or had a prostate infection. Neither was the case.)  It was shortly after this episode that I noticed the penis from that point to the tip felt a bit "lose" -  almost as if it was becoming detached. However, I do not recall any injuries.

I believe my cause is due to having very frequent erections while sleeping AND wearing tight briefs (the kind with a contour pouch - specifically 2xist, which I've worn for at least 15 years). Today, while erect when laying down with the penis pointing toward the stomach, the shape & length of my curvature is identical to the room available in the contour pouch.

I've only found this possible cause in a couple (credible) articles online. It makes perfect sense to me - that these frequent nightly erections have been constrained by the shape of my briefs causing repeated strain - and it explains why I don't recall an injury incident. (I began having more frequent erections at night in my late 30's, particularly when sleeping on my side - they're not sexual, just a physical response to my sleep positions, I guess.)

I've since switched the underwear I wear during the night to something with much more room. But otherwise, I suppose I've been trying to ignore the whole issue.

While I certainly cannot have intercourse that involves any penetration, otherwise everything is okay at this point. Oddly, I've actually increased in sensation/sensitivity just below the glans. That said, I'd really like to find a way to bring back the length/girth. I was already not entirely happy with my size (who is?) - but of course, now I realize I should have been thankful for what I had to begin with.

I'm here to hopefully experiment with safe treatments that others have used with success.

I sleep naked all the time. Dont have a clue as to how I got it

I've tried to sleep with plain boxers.  I end-up with severe aching in my hips/abdominal area due to the lack of support. So going with loser fitting trunk-style boxers.

I forgot to mention above, that my curve begins right at that "lose" point that I described. When flaccid in the regular briefs, the bend matches the available space in the pouch. So I'm hopeful that giving things more room will at least help with the nighttime erection issue.

If I had known that "constrained" erections over a long period might be a contributing factor to this, I certainly would have changed my underwear preference years ago.

Well once you got , you got it. No sense worry about that. Now you should be focusing on treatment.  I never heard of peyrones before I got it. Changing underwear won't fix it. But it  might help it not get worse

Yep... that's the first objective.

Remember, it is in the human consciousness to try to make sense and reason out of that which seems to have no reason.  Half the men here have no clue what triggered their Peyronies Disease.  The tendency is to look at something that preceded it so they look to underwater, supplements, too frequent porn, masturbation, Viagra, and the list goes on.  All healthy mails get very firm erections at night.  I am very skeptical that NTE and underwear caused the Peyronies Disease.  I think it is a case of "A" preceded "B" but "A" did not cause "B".

At any rate, welcome to the forum.

Ya if bending caused it then some treatments would be no good . They too have a lot of bending exercises
