Will an implant increase my girth?

Hi guys...

For the last year or so I haven't ever felt like I've had a full, solid erection. As a result I feel like I have lost a lot of girth.

Would an implant increase my girth? If I am able to get more solid erections, logically my girth would be bigger?

My girth feels so small now because the scar tissue doesn't let my penis expand like normal. My erections even with Viagra, I can bend them.

What do you mean you feel you have lost??
Step #1 one mentioned on our Peyronies Disease survival Guide is to take very accurate objective measurements.

If you have not done that you have no clue if you are getting better or worse and have no idea if a treatment is working or not.

An implant could potentially give you girth depending on our current girth.  Titan's have more girth potential but again that depends on your current girth.

I've done everything people recommended

Cialis 5mg daily
Pentox
VED/Traction

Yet nothing is improving and still feels like I can't accurately measure girth because I never get a solid erection but I would guess I have lost about half an inch in girth since this all started.

You have done everything, except seeking adequate treatment with a proper doctor, taking measurements and defining a plan of action so you don't get lost. Oh, and did I mention reading proper information and making a plan of action? Except no....  Why are you like this? Why de you post bogus stuff like this? Does it make you feel better? Does it make you feel that you are somewhat doing something for your situation while you are not? I don't know. Please help me understand.

sonnyjim

I have sought advice from doctors I'm not quite sure why you're saying that. They just haven't been much help.

I'm not like most of you guys, I dont have thousands of pounds sitting there waiting to spend on something I never expected to have to spend it on at this age... Sorry for that.

I asked what I could do to prevent size loss and was told: Pentox, cialis, ved and stretching. Which I have done... What more can I do than that?

I'm planning to have my implant done by Dr Ralph in London as I have heard good things about him
I'm just wondering if with a solid erection after the implant, my girth will be more than what it is now, as I never get fully hard.

Yes... It doesn't seem to do much though.

Been using it for 6 months and haven't seen any improvements.

If you have a VED then there is no reason you do not know your exact girth and length and no reason you cannot track gains or loss.  There is never a reason to think you are gaining or losing, there is never a reason to think something is helping, hurting, or doing nothing.  You precisely track the results.  There is never a reason to suspect you are bigger or smaller after surgery, you compare exact measurements.

Get a marker (I prefer very thin tape.  Precisely make a circle all the way around a VED.  I use Steri-strips wound closure strips) Pump up, and see exactly where you come to on the VED barrel.  Next slip the band off and onto your penis and remove the VED and immediately measure girth.  This is not rocket science.  It is all over this forum.  It does not take money.  You have the tools.  You always use exactly the same tape measure.  Measure right behind the head, mid-shaft, and at the base.  You should know if you increase or decrease 1/16th of an inch or 2 MM.

Sonny, all of this in in the first document you should have read on day one in the introductory Board Peyronies Survival Guide - Information for New Members - Peyronies Society Forums

My dick doesn't get or stay hard in the VED.

As soon as I come out of it I am instantly back to almost flaccid size. I'm not iterested in measuring flaccid girth.

Hi you should try fitting a penis ring onto your penis before you release the vacuum. this should hold the blood in your penis.

Exactly!  If you have ED there would be no other way to do it.  I thought that was clear in my post.

Hey hawk. You were in fact very clear in your posts. The thing is that Sonny has the same attitude no matter what you say. He opens up topics, one after another, asking for help, clearly shows he has no direction of where he is going in terms of treatment and then, when you tell him very reasonably what he can do with the tools he already has, he dismisses it with an answer slightly related to the post, but not to what you said. Why he does it tho.... I don't know

Hawk

I am going to take the time for an easy-to-understand post.  Attached is a photo of the VED I used.  I put a tiny mark on the barrel to mark my max length in the beginning.  I then put a 1/4" steri-strip around the barrel with the bottom of the strip right at my max mark.

If I ever broke above the top of that tape I knew I gained 1/4" in length.  At that point I would add another band of tape next to the one I surpassed and remove the first.  I liked this method because when looking through the barrel I could line up both sides of the tape and tell I was looking at a very consistent angle to remove that variable.  I know the exact measurement of that tape so I know my length inside of the tube and I know the exact BPEL outside of the tube with a VED ring on my penis.

I would remove the VED with a ring on the penis to maintain engorgement while measuring my girth at three points:right behind the glans, mid shaft, at the base.

Every man on this forum should know his exact measurements as well as angle if you
have a bend.  If you don't you are really wasting your time here.

I use the soma and like your idea of tape. I started at 4 inch with a sharpie but it rubs off. I now am at 6.5 on the tube. I just pump up real slow and methodical. I measure with a cloth tape measure you get at walking mart or a sewing store. Found one of my kids old wooden rulers as well. I recommend a diary of measurements and pictures.

I use a spreadsheet and update weekly. That way you know. Mine has like flaccid hang length straight down,, flaccid length on ruler straight out, stretch straight out not pulled real hard, stretched straight out hard as I can, in traction stretched length, ved pumped length in the tube, and girth when pull out of tube, even if it is not real hard. Might have borrowed some of those categories hawk.

If I do for some miracle get a pretty good erection on sildenafil I will measure that along with degree of peyronies curve.

And as its clear to see.... No response from Sonny. Now let's all await for his next post, totally unrelated to this.

sonnyjim

Not sure why you guys are constantly trying to put me down but anyway... I have been using the VED for 15 minutes a day. My length seems to be about 1/4 inch less but girth is more affected as I can never actually get hard...

Anyway an update, injections or an implant. Uro said he doesn't like putting implants in people as young as me and thinks injections might be able to restore my normal function, which I find hard to believe given what people have said here. I feel like they are still continuing to fob me off.

What are the pros of an implant vs injections other than not having to inject all of the time? I feel like I would have a better quality of life with an implant rather than having to inject.

Also going to have another ultrasound because they are telling me the lump is on the skin which it's not and it is what is affecting my function and sensation which is like, zero. also cannot ejaculate because of it. He said it could be a vein or something but couldn't explain why it doesn't ever move and has been there for over two years.

Also I am thinking that if nothing is done about the scar tissue which I have, I would have no sensation even if I did opt for an implant.

The lump is like a ring around my penis, this should show on an ultrasound right? The last one I had was a year and a half ago.

Please give me some advice guys.

But injections work for you? Because you said you used them twice and they did not work

sonnyjim

They said they will try and increase the dose as apparently last time I didn't get a massive dose...

I just don't know how they can think I will ever have a normal sex life having to inject my penis.

It is possible that with a higher dose work better. Try it, you lose nothing, and if you do not like it or it does not work well you can always leave them and choose another option.

sonnyjim

Either way it isn't going to lessen the scar tissue is it? Or return more normal function, which is what the urologist is suggesting.

Also, I will not have normal sensation like before because the scar tissue is affecting that too.

Do I stay on Pentox and see if it will eventually lessen the scar tissue (5-6 months taking it now).

Even if the injections work, it will not feel like my penis is actually attached to my body as I have no pleasurable sensation. I'm not sure what else I can do from my end. Everyone was saying good things about Pentox but maybe I started too late to see any positive changes?

Here are my two cents: experiment with injections and see how things are; if you'll still suffer from "loss of sensation" then you can get an Electromyography of the penis (source: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9577704) that will eventuallly asses if such thing is actually occurring. If it's not, then you're free to inject your dick whenever you want to. If you won't like this scenario, just stop it and get an implant (since it looks like you're growing accostumed to them).

By the way I almost completely repetaded suicisidecoominsoon' words. Credit this guy too if you had to find something useful that I wrote.

Best

I'll be following your updates

sonnyjim

It's not that I'm growing accustomed to it it's just I'd rather pump my dick up than have to inject it every time i want sex, neither is very spontaneous but an implant seems like it would better for a long term solution.

Im calm, I just feel like I'm running out of options and don't want to sit around waiting for crap to get worse.

Is there any hope that Pentox will do anything now?

SonnyJim,

There is hope the Pentox could work.  It might or it might not.  Injections carry a big risk but they usually work and they are painless.  If you have no sensation in your penis that is an entirely different thing that probably has little to do with Peyronies Disease.  Also, your doctor should know if you have scar tissue on your tunica IF they did an ultrasound.  I can't keep up with thousands of members posts and you refuse to fill out your signature line.

An implant is great if done properly by a skilled surgeon but it also is very unlikely to address a loss of sensation.

@Sonnyjim: nobody here is trying to put you down mate. Quite the contrary, people are trying to help you out but you are dismissive of what they tell you. Hawk was very specific, and others too on the path you should take, but it's clear to see that you are lost and don't know exactly what to do next. Or first.

JS1991

Sonny, if you'd rather pump your dick up with an implant than inject and you are 100% SURE then just go ahead and focus all of your energy on surgery/finding a surgeon through the NHS, etc. It's your choice, we urge you to think it through carefully and go through every possible treatment before making the plunge, but it seems you've made up your mind. If that's the case keep with the Pentox, add in traction and VED to increase size so your dick is bigger when they implant you, and enjoy your new penis. I feel like you will feel mental relief once you know and decide on the path you have to take. I know it's frustrating and to be honest, I agree with a lot of your logic behind surgery. The only and last advice I have to give you before surgery would be to try extended fasting (search snake diet) first and see if it helps to restore sensation, you have nothing to lose.

And for god's sake, fill in your signature line sonny LOL
