Which is better for detecting scar tissue and changes in tissues etc. Ultrasound or MRI ?

I never thought of MRI, but that could potentially give a better view of things. I got an ultrasound and it did not show scar tissue but that does not mean I don't have any because scar tissue only shows up if calcified.

Just wondered because the ultrasound didn't show any scar tissue but I can physically feel a lump that feels pretty big to me.

Could they have made a mistake? This was two years ago.
