Hey guys,

I just received my latest bioavailable testosterone anylisis I myself asked to my urologist. And I think they are pretty alarming: 0,53 ng/mL (I'm 31 years old)... Actually, testo has been dropping since, at least, 18 months (first testo check 18 months ago; Peyronies Disease declared 13 months ago): it steadily went from 1,64 to now 0,53.

SO, before I go to my next appointment with each of my urologists (Drs Galiano and Virag, in Paris), I wanted to ask you: what do you think about this? What can I, what should I do?

If needed, I put you a little reminder of my situation:
- For 5 years: CPPS, HPV, loss of libido, ED (I attributed to psychogenic causes), loss of pubic and beard hair (stabilized to a lower thresold ever since).
- For 18 months: depression and anxiety; solved or tremendously improving for 4 months; no or very small nocturnal/morning erections (much better with PDE5).
- For 14 months: Peyronies Disease, with length loss (stabilized), girth loss (slowly progressing), shooting pain in erection (lowered and now apparently stabilized but still very annoying).
- Very healthy lifestyle, lots of sport, quite low body fat (around 13,5%) muscular mass slowly but steadily improving, free from smoking for 10 months, little alcohol.

--> So, I know the testo subject has already been discussed, but if anyone has anything to say or recommend, I'll take it with much gratitude. I must confess I'm starting to feel a little anxious again: nothing I can't handle, but these staggering results are a punch in the face, and will surely dictate a huge change in approach for me. As I have found us members here to be often more lucid and helpful than urologists, I'm calling you for help once again!

Thanks in advance guys,

G

All the conditions you list can be caused, or exacerbated, by low testosterone.  HRT sounds like an important treatment for you.

I feel like the muscle constriction that adversely affects the penis, testicles, prostate, etc. of a man suffering from CPPS could contribute to low T, but just a theory. I haven't had mine tested, but I feel fine. After reading this, I'm going to get mine tested again. One thing I know for sure: If you go hit a heavy leg day in the gym your testosterone will go up a bit for a few days. Last resort should be TRT; it will permanently affect you when you come off of it. Although it is the safest form of testosterone therapy, imo.

Treating a T deficiency is very different from supplementing it for performance or appearance when in the normal range, and from what I've read much less problematic.  LEF.0rg has done great studies on T deficiency referenced.  (They don't sell T, so no bias.)

Testosterone and thyroid function are intimately connected and one study shows that it is possible in some cases for men to double their free testosterone through correction of underlying hypothyroidism.

Hello guys,

Thanks a lot for your answers, that's very precious to me!!!

@JS: yep, I definitly sense a connection between CPPS and low T, but just like you I feel like it escapes my comprehension... and uro's one  >:(... BTW, I do work out 2 to 3 times a week, with a full body program that precisely includes squats, bench press, etc. etc... I've progressed to the point that I added like 10-12 kg to my squats over the last 5 months, so these T results are indeed crazy and alarming.

@Tony: can you please elaborate on treting T deficiency if you have any knowledge/recommendations? I am pretty anxious about it, and everything I come across about it seems just much more preoccupating!!

@Paolo: I did thyroid analysis 4 months ago (even an ultrasound) which found nothing  :-\...

@ YoungFella: I've been researching your posts, but did not find anything substantial; could please provide me with a link / sum up your idea??

Thanks again, and if anyone has ANY other idea or recommendation, I DO TAKE IT  ;D

Tony, thanks a lot for this very good link!

That's a lot of information, which make me feel even more puzzled: how come I have so relevant (hair loss, low libido, ED...) and irrelevant (muscular gain...) symptoms of low T?

I'm going to ask my uros to do a complete hormonal check, with SHBG and LH in first place.

Besides, do you think I should ask specifically for something more, except for a "big general blood/hormone check"? As my uros (the bests peyronists in France...) seem to be very lazy about all that, I'm on my own in this quest, and your help is very much appreciated guys :-)

Yes, I would ask specifically for what LEF  recommends as it is not just the total T that has impact and most docs are not endocrinologists so you'll need to guide your own medical care.

Your body fat is low. Do you or have you ever taken steroids as this may have caused you the hypogonadism type symptoms. I you have testicle shrinkage from steroids you could try a short course of HCG to reboot the system. That being said short course is always best as you end up suppressing other hormones.
Noted peyronies development about 10 years ago, 15 % deviation to the left. Have had epididymis cyst removed recently and seems worse. Possible cause was from trimix use not long after I was married. Otherwise I am very healthy.

Gabriel

Yes Tony you're right, I'm going to look for an androgen specialized endocrinologist (if that ever exists) and take an appointment today!!

Apmark, god no I never took steroids!! My body fat is purposely quite low (according to my Amazon scale... in the mirror I can see a liitle resisting belly/visceral fat) because I practice weight lifting, intermittent fasting and follow a controlled diet. And so far my testicles seem to have a normal size, which has not changed over time!! Do you have any other idea of what could cause hypogonadism symptoms??

No apart from the fact male's have approximately half the testosterone levels they did 100 years ago. And the medical bodies reduce the acceptable levels often because the average keeps dropping.
Also a low BMI is good as it stops testosterone turning into estrogens and instead converts it to DHT. So you are on the right path there.

Hello guys,

Well, I don't know if I'm on the right path, but bioavailable T continued dropping: I'm now at 0,45ng/mL.

Another weird thing: my PSA is CRAZY low, like 0,063 (total) and 0,031 (free).

All other markers are normal or so (SHBG, LH, FSH, Estradiol......).

--> So my endocrinologist prescribed me 3 weeks of Ovitrelle (apparently a gonadotrophin that should indirectly and "naturally" stimulate T production in the testicles), with "click injections" I'll do myself with a kind of "pen". As you can guess, I have not figured it all out already, but I plan on starting this week...

Anyone had any experience/opinion about it??

Low T preceded my peyrones. 295. No erectile dysfunction. Just fatigue and weakness. Now on Androgel . I now look like a weight lifter. I had no idea I had low T until the 2 test. Only symptoms were the fatigue and weakness. I do have an enlarged prostate which is in the norm for my age. The androgel seems to have helped the peyrones. The doctor said many of his patients have the combo peyrones and low T

Hey guys,

So this treatment by Ovitrelle (HCG, human chorionic gonadotropin) functioned like hell: in 3 weeks, I tripled my total T, and went from 0,45 to 3,75 in bioavailable T!!

The problem is: the endocrinologist (by email) concluded to a "hypogonadotropic hypogonadism caused by a lack of stimulation of hypothalamic/hypophysic hormones", and says that we don't know if the rise in T is durable or if we'll have to do the treatment (self-injections...) again. So what, I'm 31, and maybe I am to self-inject myself some weird hormones every week for the rest of my life LOL ?

Anyway, do you have any opinion about this "hypogonadotropic hypogonadism" or hormones taking :-)?

I was told there are patients in their 20s getting T injections. Ya it is for a life time.   I asked that question too. I have noticed a difference in strength and muscle mass. No real difference in erections. I didnt have ED before. My sex drive seems to have increased. I got gained about 15 lbs. My stomach got bigger.  So far it hasn't effected the peyrones that I can tell.  I use 5 mg a day. Any more than that causes me more stress. Just the opposite of what it's supposed to do. But I feel pretty good mentally at 5 mg

Im on 500mg of testosterone a week with Ai, soon to adf some stronger androgens.

Everything is better.
My baseline temperature of my dick is increased, as part of my research.
Circulation is better , erection are harder and mentally Im better.

100mg is not enough.
If you want to take low dose of testosterone , you have to add androgens, like Proviron .
You can also buy DHT cream 12%.

Right now Im having sexual activities for hours , barely feeling sore dick.
Another thing is the increase in dopmaine

Anyway , Im a big advocate in T theory and this is the only treatment I do, no Pav cocktail or some other BS treatment, but i supplment with mag and vit d and some k2 and arginine before workouts , the syngery between cialis and testosterone is insane
