Just a thought....if Botox kills off the nerve endings...then this might be a study in regards to the pain aspects of Peyronies...and a study geared toward the many men with Peyronies who suffer from tremendous pain that does not go away...

I am most likely way off...just my .02

Some docs are making tons of money on Botox and they'd love to expand their market.  Botox "works" by blocking nerve impulses and as a result, paralyzing muscles. Doesn't that sound like exactly what you would NOT want to happen to your penis - or really, any other part of your body?

The doctors are researching it at BCM Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas. I see one of the uros there and he told me a little about it. I think the idea behind it is the botox to relax the scar tissue. He said he couldnt talk too much about it because clinical trials were underway. That was about Feb 2009.

Later on when I asked what other options I had once the VI didnt work he said that the Botox thing and AA4500 might be options in the near future.

How strange... I can't imagine what their reasoning is for botox to work in this case.  There's no real "muslce" in the penis - is there?  I mean, what are they trying to paralyze?  I'm open minded...just confused!

I stumbled on a new trial for using botox to treat peyronie's.  Has anyone come across this?  I did a forum search and didn't turn up anything so thought it worth mentioning.  I just discovered after trying to post with a link that links are not allowed.  So if anyone wants to research it, the govt. clinicaltrials.gov reference is NCT00812838.
