Voltarin Gel

Can anyone tell me if Voltaren Gel is an OTC product or prescription?  I seem to get conflicting info.

Hey Hawk,

In France (Europe?) the 1% and 2% versions are available OTC.

For a 4% version, as used in some studies, you have to get a compound Rx.

BTW, I've been using the 4% foam version once or twice a day as mentioned in the studies, with absolutely no result so far... I'll carry on until I finish the bottle, and let you know...

I bought 2.32% gel off ebay! Delivered to New York. The writing on the bottle seem to be in Polish if I'm correct.

My interest in this is actually for my wife's cervical neck pain.  I just spoke to our pharmacist who told me she knows of no OTV Voltaren.  She said the prescription gel is  1%

I just looked up Diclofenac and it says
Brands: Voltaren, Cambia, Solaraze, Zipsor, Pennsaid, Flector, Dyloject, DermacinRx Lexitral, Sure Result DSS Premium Pack, Xenaflamm, and more
Availability: Prescription needed
Pregnancy: Consult a doctor
Alcohol: Avoid. Very serious interactions can occ

My pharmacist knows nothing about there being anything but 1%
