Re: Pentox in SPAIN, does it need recipe?
« Reply #100 on: January 27, 2013, 12:10:02 AM »

Phase, thanks for your post.  The word for "Recipe" in English is typically "Prescription" or alternatively "Script".

Since Pentox is NOT a regulated drug (narcotic) in the US, I can't imagine it being seized in customs.  Just make sure you carry it in the ORIGINAL container which specifies what it is.  If you still have concerns, simply contact a representative of the countries you are planning to visit, typically at a consulate or embassy.  Pentox is used for multiple health conditions.  Its an old drug so customs agents around the world should be able to figure it out with no problem.  As for Cialis, you need to talk to a Pharmacist/Chemist or whatever you call them in Spain.  They would be very happy to answer your question, I am sure.  Of course, someone else from Spain might be able to answer that question right here on this forum.  That would solve the problem right away.  - George

Thanks, and sorry I got mixed up with the words, lol.

Is there anybody from Spain in here, who would know how is this drug regulated in Spain?

I'm coming from a country where anybody can buy this from pharmacy, so obviously I don't have prescription for this. But if it's under prescprition in Spain, it can come a problem if I take Pentox with me.

Hi Phase.
Yes, as far as I know, it is a prescription drug. You may find a pharmacy who will sell it to you, but at what cost, I don't know.

Personally, I buy mine from the same place as many members here do, River Pharmacy. It seems to get through customs with no bother - so far anyway.

I live near Alicante. I waited quite a while to get an appointment with a Urologist after finally convincing my local doctor about my problem. Unfortunately, he seemed to be completely lacking in up to date knowledge of effective treatments and prescribed me Vitamin E. I've pretty much decided not to waste any more time with him.

Thanks for info :) OK, hmm, I guess I just take my pentox with me, and if they ask something I must say it's free to buy in my home country. Hopefully it goes ok...

Phase, I also have traveled through customs in quite a few countries and never had a problems with prescribed drugs in their original packaging.  Some older folks especially here in the states take dozens of drugs daily, so really this is not uncommon at all. buen viaje !

Yes that is not a problem I have other prescription drugs as well, but the point is that I don't have prescription for Pentox, because in my country we can buy it without prescription. :)  So I don't have any kind of document for it, I wonder if that becomes a problem.  Maybe i'll put it in my hand luggage so they probably won't look it...

Since I have no health insurance many of my drugs including pentox are from Mexico and India without prescription/document.   It has never been a problem fortunately.

I really don't think customs agents care at all whether one has a prescription or not.  They ONLY really care about intercepting narcotics which means you need to have all pills in their original labeled containers with the labels show what the pills are.  That is pretty much it.  The only OTHER problem would be if you were to be carrying an excessively large quantity of a certain pill indicating you might be planning to market them.  - George

Sorry Phase, I got the wrong end of the stick. I assumed from your post that you were coming to live here, or wanted to order Pentox from here. If you're coming from an E.U. country, I'm sure you'll have no problem. I fly backwards and forwards to the U.K. about 5-6 times a year - never had a problem, they may ask to see your passport, but that's about it.

Where to buy pentox? (also, getting a prescription in the UK)
« Reply #109 on: April 02, 2013, 11:01:29 PM »

Hey everybody. I joined this forum a long time ago but I haven't been here for ages. I'm not a spammer or anything.

I've been buying pentox from alldaychemist for the past few years and it's been working really well but they've stopped taking credit card payments and I really don't want to pay by e-cheque. I've had fraudulent activity in the past on my credit cards after ordering from online pharmacies (including alldaychemist!) but at least with a credit card you have some protection (and you can always cancel the card and get a new one, with new details).

So where do you buy your pentox from? I know that the big boys (united and inhouse) sell it but it's the Trental brand and is waaaaaaay too expensive. I want a cheap generic version, and I want to pay by credit card.

Alternatively, has anyone here in the UK managed to get a prescription for pentox? That would just be awesome, especially if it was an NHS prescription (doubtful, I know)

Pentox in Germany

Hi,

I'm looking to get some Pentox in Germany but have no prescription as I don't have health insurance here. Are there any online pharmacies where I could get it without a prescription?

Thanks in advance.

I have an NHS prescription. Ask your GP, tell them it's working for you, ask for a trial.

Thanks for the replies everyone

I've checked River Pharmacy and their prices are good (plus, I've actually heard of them before) but their delivery times are a bit slow and I'm kind of desperate. What sort of info is on the package? Does it say "healthcare product" or anything like that? Is it obviously internet-bought drugs? Are you in the UK? Did it get caught by customs?

Also, LMP, is it an NHS prescription? How did you go about getting it? That would just be incredible. I don't really have any proof that I ever had Peyronie's though - my plaque was only small (like a big grain of sand) and curvature was never particularly bad. I just had pain and erection problems (difficulty maintaining and no spontaneous/morning erections) and I don't even have that anymore. I do have photos but they don't really show very much. Also, I'm not sure if my GP ever officially diagnosed me with it (I definitely got referred to a specialist but I can't remember what they said)

Panic, I am in the USA, and was told by river that about 10% of the shipments are seized by US customs, not sure about England.  River will refund or reship, but of course this will double shipping time which normally is 3-4wks. So I always order about 6 wks before I run out !

Hi Panic

My prescription came from the urologist. Actually it was his registrar. The original urologist, a so called specialist who said his hospital had taken part in the Xiaflex trial - this was basically unsuccessful he said. Anyway, when I originally saw him he said there was nothing I could do to treat this other than take vitamin E. Pentox would be useless. So I bought my own. On my next visit I saw his registrar, I asked for Pentox, no problem, Cialis, no problem. So all I do now is at the gp's drop in a request for a repeat every month which so far they just do for me.

You'll need to see your gp and explain the problem, maybe need another referral. Print off the evidence - tell them you've been buying privately and it works.

The place I got mine online were Geoff's Pharmacy UK. Price is good, order is quick. They have good reviews.

The GPs and a urologist I saw on the NHS weren't willing to offer any treatment at all. I then saw a urologist privately who sent a letter to my GP recommending he prescribe both Pentox and Cialis, which I've been on for 6 months now with a standard NHS prescription, so it costs me about £15 a month for both of them.

I have another appointment with the urologist this week so we'll see how it goes but my personal experience of the NHS is that they don't really want to help with Peyronies but will do if they receive a recommendation from a private specialist. A private urologist can of course write you a private prescription for Pentox but you won't be saving any money. It just means you can walk into any chemist and order it.

They won't ship to Germany... It seems pretty impossible to get pentox in Germany without a prescription. I'm from the UK so could probably get some shipped there and then take them back to Germany with me when I return, but that won't be for a few months.

For info Panic...

Once the uro's registrar prescribed me pentox after my request and I came towards the end of a month's worth I went to the GP's. In reception they have a repeat prescription request form which I filled in and 48 hours later went to collect. They didn't have it. A few phone calls followed and it was signed off and then the pharmacy had to order it as it was an uncommon request. I had the same thing for 3 months each time, it's easier to get hold of heroin I'm sure.  Anyway today after I complained the GP rang me, she's had it approved by the practice pharmacist for them to prescribe on a repeat prescription with no hassle and the local pharmacist will keep stock for me. I get free prescriptions too so it costs nothing.

All I'm saying is plead your case, stamp your feet and get the medication you need.

Pentox - GP says no, Any other options?
« Reply #126 on: October 15, 2013, 01:23:27 AM »

 :-[

So, I followed up with my GP tonight. Sent email last week (which she never read) and took in references tonight. Which she wouldn't look at. Anyway, long story short she said no to prescription of Pentox. Also, advised the Urologist she referred me to 2 weeks ago hadn't followed up with me so she gave me his tel and told me to call.

So, is there anything I can do to get my hands on Pentox? I'm in Vancouver, BC Canada. Anyone local no a different approach?

Btw. I also had a pee today that gave me a sharp stinging sensation in the head of my penis. Like I was squeezing razor blades through it. An hour later I went again and was not there. Told my doctor and my go asked if this was related. She said no, and to pee in a cup in case of infection. Could this be urethral stricture linked to the scar? I am still in acute. I was diagnosed about a month ago.

Big thanks

Milton;

If you cannot get a prescription from your Urologist, there are sources where Pentox can be bought at reasonable cost here on this site. Many of us use these people. They are reliable and honest, from my experience.

Milton.........the stinging in the head area "might" be prostate related.  I have been fighting with both Peyronies and Prostate problems.  I started taking more Saw Palmetto than usual, 500 mg, per day and the stinging went away after a couple of weeks.  Also, that much Saw Palmetto helps to fight off an infection in that area....this I was told by a website on the Internet.  Not knowing your age, can't say for sure if it is Prostate related.  If you are over 40, it is time to give the prostate some attention with supplements.  Personally, I do not recommend supplements with Beta-Sitosterol because it tends to kill the Libido, and you don't want that.  FYI...........

Milton

In addition to the saw palmetto the best thing for a prostate infection is drink 2 8oz. glasses of cranberry juice cocktail.

Kidney and prostate problems run in my family. A old urologist over 50 years ago advised my dad to drink the cranberry juice cocktail. Worked wonders for him. At 35 I had my first prostate infection. The urologist put me on an antibiotic and told me to drink the cranberry juice. Being young and dumb I just relied on the antibiotic. Took me over a year to get rid of the infection. When my wife was in the hospital in 1982 my prostate started acting up. I went and got a bottle of cranberry juice and drank it in 2 days. I did not have to go to the doctor. Now every time I even suspect a UTI I start drinking it.  Note: It is an acquired taste. Best Ice Cold. Do not get the blends or 100% juice the cranberry juice cocktail works best. Also no citrus fruit or juice the citrus acid agervatges prostate and UTI's.

Thanks everyone!

I'm 38. But will take both suggestions on. Like I said to the doctor, it came and then an hour later was gone. I've been able to pee today ok. however, it was frightening.

I finally got a first meeting with my urologist. Unfortunately its jan 28th next year. And that was after some pleading with the receptionist who answered the phone. She said that the Uro had put it down as non urgent so its down the pickling list. Turns out shes taking appointments for Spring next year! Gulp. So i suppose I am lucky.

For now I will concentrate on the oral suggestions on this site. Plus the extra ones I now have. I just want to make sure Im doing everything i can. That way at least my brain wont take over with worry, which I know can control a lot of this.

My main concern is access to Pentrox which I dont have. I have a link to buy on line now but am in Canada so it wont be sent. I have access to a us postal box though. But not sure if they will send there.

Thanks guys. Doing what i can to keep on top of this. Not a good year for this to happen (is there even a good year?haha) as were getting married in May.

Milton..........in regards to the Burning when you pee, if it might be an infection, for which I suggested 500 mg of Saw Palmetto, Grapeseed Extract is also suppose to fight against Urinary Tract Infections besides it is suppose to strengthen blood vessels.  And, at the age of 38, this could be the Start of Prostate Problems.  I believe I started at that age but did not realize it at the time.  I thought it was part of getting older.  It would be a good idea to start a Preventive Maintenance program for the Prostate.  Also, an Enlarged Prostate can cause Erectile Dysfunction.

Depending on your financial condition, start of these supplements as soon as you can, and you should check with River Pharmacy to see if they ship to a P.O. Box.  But, you have to sign for the shipment.  River should have a toll free phone number to contact them to ask about the shipments.

Riverfarmacy does not have food supplements so you will not find Saw Palmetto and Grape seed Extract.
Check it out yourself before advising people to find there things that don't have.

Milton, I'm sorry to hear about how long you have to wait for medical treatment. That's ridiculous.

Since you have to be your own doctor, follow the advice of the other guys and go to River for the Cialis and/or Viagra. Plus, if you're fighting an infection, you need antibiotics. Cipro is my choice when it comes to urological infections. You can go to the drug store and buy a pi$$ test kit. It only costs a few dollars. You pee on the strips and they tell you if you have an infection. You need to address that as soon as possible.

If you test positive for an infection, you need to either go to the ER or urgent care or some other place where you can be seen right away.

Good luck and God bless.

Oh well, not going to risk dropping more money on generics that might get seized. I'll just have to try get a prescription for trental and hope its not too much more expensive. Though I'm thinking the price is going to be fairly steep. Six month supply of generics was getting close to 300 euro.

I'd be sorted treatment wise by now if it wasn't for customs. I'd literally have pretty much everything possible to ease my mind about what so far is a very mild case, not too much pain in general, noticeable dent at the base and a curve to the left that is not nearly enough to impede sex. No noticeable loss of length or girth (which is good because i dont have much girth to start with!).

I'm in an ok place right now regarding this, i have a feeling it won't get too bad and i really hope my feeling is right. I'm taking coq10 an a-carnitine just. I stopped taking arginine because blood flow and stuff hasn't been a problem for me so far.

Ranted off topic a slight bit there.  :-X

The majority view is 3 x 400mg / day

A dosing day is 24hrs so ideally, one 400mg tab every 8 hrs

Try not to take it on an empty stomach. It can irritate the stomach and cause acid. It is a listed side effect. I suffered this badly for the first 2 - 3 weeks but it calmed down. I still never take it on an empty stomach though !

Hope that helps

Just for your information, Pentox is a prescription-free drug in Iran. Three weeks ago I made a trip to this country, entered a random pharmacy in Tehran and asked for pentoxifylline. The pharmacist showed me a blister and asked me how much I needed.
It was pentoxifylline 400.
