So many thanks for posting that! One of the best overviews of the 'which implant?' debate I have read, and believe me I have read a lot while going through the waiting for my date process.

I'm glad Dr. Eid's overview on maintaining size, quality, and function with penile implant surgery was helpful Dave.
How long have you been waiting for your implant surgery and how much longer is it likely to be?

I've only actually been on the waiting list for the surgery since September 10th when I had my pre-surgical assessment. That was three months after seeing the consultant surgeon on June 18th who confirmed he thought the graft/reconstruction plus implant was the way to go. The whole process so far has taken a couple of years since first seeing a urologist about the Peyronies. As for how long to go, the NHS has a 'within 18 weeks' policy for non-urgent procedures so fingers crossed I'll be bionic early in the new year. I've yet to see the specialist nurses for counselling, so still some way to go yet.

Dave,

Keep us posted.  Don't be one of those that leave those watching your progress wondering.  We want to be there with you through the good, the bad, the ugly, and hopefully the ecstasy that follows.

PS: I am going to split this topic off from Dr Eid's overview.

Dave, will you be stretching w traction or VED while waiting to regain any loss of length you may have experienced from peyronies?

No danger of that Hawk, I'm a journalist by profession and most people have trouble shutting me up!

I'm currently in the No Man's Land of knowing I have no real choice but the surgery that has been suggested and actually getting it over and done with. Which means that all I can do is worry about the minutiae, although much of what concerns me is hardly trivial I guess. I'm pretty much researched out now, truth be told, and at the point where I believe the research is probably doing more harm than good when it comes to my mental state as I await getting my date.

It's complicated, like my peyronie's  ;)

I have a diagnosis of complex peyronie's with ED. Left-lateral curvature is 45 degrees and dorsal 80 degrees, according to measurements by my surgeon three months ago (I suspect the dorsal is now nearer 100.) The vacuum stuff never worked for me, over the course of six months I could never get an erection to speak of. I will, no doubt, lose some length. It's hard to tell how much I have lost courtesy of the curvature, but I imagine my pre-peyronie's days of 8" are long gone. To be honest, neither my wife nor I are too worried - anything usable will be a blessing...
