I just got off the phone with Dr. Zahalsky. I am interested in his treatment. It is a new experimental treatment so its risky as is all experimental treatments with not much studies to back it.

Should I try it? Or should I go for the standard P-shot?

Tried his stem cell treatment...didn't work at all

Doubtful, would try other treatments first unless you have money to spare.

Thanks for that information. Is there anyone who does stem cells that seems to work? Dr Lander?

If you're going to go with the stem cell route specifically for your Peyronie's, go with Lander. He includes shockwave, PRP, etc. I used US Stem Cell Clinic, they're also great.

Thank you. May I ask why you suggest Dr. Lander as opposed to other doctors who do stem cells and prp? Have people actually had their peyronies cured through him?

Yes, our own member "rd" apparently was cured and he went to Lander. My recommendation of him comes because he uses PRP with the stem cells, he uses shockwave before and after the stem cells to help home them in, and he offers repeat procedures at reduced prices. He also has done this procedure many, many times and has much experience with it. From what I've heard he injects specifically in and around plaques. I went to US Stem Cell Clinic but I was getting my knees done as well and I wanted an IV. They both have their pros and cons.

This all sounds great. I have a couple of concerns:

1. More people have reported no success with Dr. Lander than success (only person was "rd" who had success as opposed to at least THREE people Ive seen on this forum that have had no success).

2. The only person who had success (RD), did it WITHOUT shockwave therapy. Many have hypothesized that the reason they may not have had success is because the shockwave therapy damages the stem cells.

3. His company, California Stem Cell Clinic, is being sued by the DOJ for dangerous stem cell use (one lady even went blind).

4. Uses fat derived stem cells as opposed to bone marrow stem cells. Fat derived stem cells have less studies proving its efficacy. Also, since he is using our own fat stem cells, I am thinking that I will have to undergo liposuction, which doesnt sound fun, especially if it leaves visible scarring.

5. Two published studies with his protocol of only 5 and 11 patients with significant results in 2014 and 2016. However, results were from a questionnaire and not an ultrasound detection of plaque size. Zahalsky also has a study with 5 participants but actually measured plaques. Both low sample size. I rather see an objective test couples with the subjective questionnaire to eliminate the placebo effect.

Hearing the anecdote of the one member that was cured is really exciting. But at the same time, its only one person, as opposed to many on this forum who have no had success.
All this being said, seems like Dr. Lander is currently the best option. I will do more research and will likely see him and report back here on my results. I am currently deciding between just a priapus shot and Dr. Lander's protocol.
If anyone has more information regrading his treatment, please let me know. I'd really appreciate it.

1. Not all cases respond to stem cells.

2. True, I've never heard of that theory on shockwave I'm going to have to look into that.

3. So is the US Stem Cell Clinic. The DOJ is trying to shut down as many clinics as they can and companies are increasingly moving out of the country so they can continue to operate. The woman who went blind went to my clinic by the way, not Landers', and I was fully aware of all of these facts before I went in for treatment.

4. Fat derived cells are more plentiful when pulled than bone marrow cells. Studies show fat cells are also more effective for soft tissue/penile issues/Peyronie's (I have a study, I'll link it) than bone marrow cells, which are more helpful with joint issues.

5. I agree.

On "just a priapus shot" and Landers' protocol, or whoever's protocol, just know that a priapus shot is essentially just PRP, which is included with almost any stem cell procedure you can get.

One thing that I always fail to understand is how come stem cells injection (wheter in the plaque and/or near to it) should eliminate fibrosis. I understand they should have a "paracrine" effect and the potential to regenerate new tissue, but what's the theory behind getting damaged tissue removed this way? Do stem cells also work like collagenase, by dissolving scar tissue and then replacing it themselves? Does anyone have any idea/input on this?

JS1991

Here's a description of what it does for Dupeytren's contracture:

QuoteAddition of adipose-derived stem cells to Dupuytren's myofibroblasts reduced the contraction of the latter with corresponding reduction of α-SMA protein expression, probably through a dilution effect. In contrast, bone marrow-derived stem cells increased the myofibroblast contractility. In addition, adipose-derived stem cells inhibit myofibroblast proliferation and mediate these effects by soluble factors, influenced by cell-cell contact dependent signalling. Adipose-derived stem cells inhibit the contractile myofibroblast in Dupuytren's disease.

I'll post something Peyronie's related when I have more time to look through my articles (Dupeytren's is nearly identical to Peyronie's, but in the hand). They mix in with the scar tissue, provide inhibition of fibrosis as well as growth of themselves into healthy cells, and subsequently improvement via dilution of healthy cells into the unhealthy cells. Over time, I've read they begin to replace the unhealthy cells. It is also my theory that inducing autophagy is insanely symbiotic with stem cell procedures; it was even recommended to me by my clinic before I had researched autophagy. I've also read there is a revascularization process.
