Hello Everyone,

I have a flaccid penis pain only at one spot just few milimeters down the glans for the last 6 months. This pain is decreasing during the erection.
I have been diagnosed with Peyronies disease with small plaque (1.6 mm) almost at same area. But the strange thing I have the pain only during the flaccid. I tried Pentox for almost 6 weeks and made me worse. It seems the pain increases when there is more blood flow.
I have tried almost all types of avilable anti inflammatories in my countery... nothing worked....
The Uro Dr has injected me with a corticosteroid injection which has done nothing with this pain, but caused an atrophy and weaker erections.

I am in deep anxiety and depression...

The anti depressionts made my life worse... I even attempted a falid sucide once!

Can anyone help me with this please?

Stop masturbating or checking your erections for a month and stop eating inflammatory foods is my best answer. It can take a year to recover from penile injuries and masturbating once can make the process of healing start over.

Hello Picgg,

Depression is a common phenomenon, created or amplified by Peyronie's disease; I suffered from it very, very badly the last 12-18 months and I'm still recovering, so I know what you're talking about.

Thus, you have to see and realize that there is no reason to contemplate such absurd thing as suicide. Regarding Peyronies Disease, you have indeed a very small plaque, for only 6 months, and haven't tried 30% of all the possible treatments yet, a great part of them having shown results in a fair percentage of people. So, cheer up, take control, thoroughly browse the forum and try differents things until you finally find those which work for you :-).

I had pain while flaccid too, but it's gone now, thanks to a few measures I took and thanks to a little patience. Here is what I did and what I can immediately recommend you do:
- As Neo said, stop masturbating, not only for a month but for as long as you can, being patient and determined if you relapse.
- As Neo said too, change your diet if not already done: progressively but quicky cut off all reffined sugars, reduce carbs, eat a great lot of veggies, good white meat and a lot of fish.
- Start taking the usual oral treatments cocktail, one by one every week so you can judge if they are doing harm or good: low dose Cialis, ALCAR, L-citrullin, pycnogenol. I also recommend adding bilberry + propolis extract, and gotu kola IF you have already stopped the anti depressants (if not, they could interfere, so don't mess with that; but if not gotu kola can do wonders).
- If not done already, start doing cardio training at least 2 times a week, progressively increasing frequence and intensity (swimming 3 times a week is the best, but running or biking will also do the trick).
- Try the EO/VO synergy I came up with, which suppressed almost any pain while flaccid on me: Essential and vegetal oils 2.0 - Peyronies Society Forums

--> So yes, this is a lot of things, and require some will and commitment, which I know it's hard to find when you're depressed and anxious. But I can guarantee mate, when you'll have applied all these steps, you will feel better.

All the best,

- Pain almost cured with Hirudoid cream and diet/lifestyle changes (see my topics on this); deformity still here, but partly reduced with traction + VED.

Thank you so much for your positive response.

- I am taking 5mg cialis daily now, it increases the pain but it gave better erections.

- I stopped Masturbating for the last 5 months, and I am having sex almost 3 times a week.... Shall I stop this now also?

- I am also taking L- Arganine and CoQ10.

-My fasting blood sugar is 100-110, trying my best to bring it down, but it seems impossible with Anxity and Insominia, it is still the same value even if don't eat anything the whole day.

- I have lost almost 20 Kg during the last 6 months ( I used to be 65 and now I am 45 Kg and still gowing down).

The plaque is small but the pain is horrible and I have a fear that more plaques are forming. Is there any chance that my plaque size will increase or I will have a bend in the future?

There are no experianced docotors with Peyronies in my countery and I cannot offord travilling abroad.

I tried to call several doctors abroad.... and all of them asked me the same question.... why I allowed the Dr to inject me with a steroid injection?! And no one can tells if this atrophy is reversable or not!

Thank you again for your support.

Great advice by Gabriel.

Your fasting blood sugar is pretty serious. Even 90 has been shown to be correlated with a 40% higher heart attack risk, and nerve damage.
The mainstream advice on what is diabetic or pre-diabetic is BS, and based on when to give people drugs, not based on how to help people.
Mine was also that high or a little higher. Your penis will be inflamed with that blood sugar and 3x a week sex in my opinion.

Ejaculation itself causes inflammation, so if you can I would stop all sexual activity for several weeks at least.

I don't recommend any injections. Any penile pain means rest to me.

In this case I should consider Metaformin to bring blood sugar down?

Because it seems impossible to bring down further with my Anxiety.

You need to eat fat and protein. Hypoglycemia is not really related to low blood sugar exactly. It's the result of an energy crisis where your body cannot use your own fat or fat from food. Without energy your body releases adrenaline. Obviously there are cases of actual low blood sugar but it isn't so simple.

I've dealt with chronic hypogclyemia for the last several years, and the only solution is to limit carbs and eat  things like cheese, veggies, and meat etc.

I am sorry, but i couldn't understand exactly what I should do, Shall I take Metformin to lower the blood sugar level? Or just change my diet to proten and fat eleminating carbs?

Because I don't have Hypoglycemia, my blood sugar is always above 100... deapite I have days with zero food only water.... it is still above 100 and most probably because of Anxiety

To lower your blood sugar, eliminate carbs, plain and simple.

High blood sugar does not cause anxiety. Anxiety is the result of your body not having energy since you are unable to use fats. When you live so long with blood sugar like that, your body does not know how to use fats (or carbs well) and so your energy is a constant problem. You get anxiety without food because your body is unable to use it's own fat stores. I personally would never take metformin. The less drugs the better.

High blood sugar should be treated with diet.

NeoV

I have to admit that this is incredibly complicated. The big issue here may have more to do with insulin levels. But even so, the problem really comes down to carbohydrate consumption and mutated mitochondria that can't use fats, regardless of what your numbers are.

I am going to throw in my two cents here only because I am diabetic and have been since age 2. (now 50)

A normal glucose reading is now said to be 70-99 fasting, 140-145 2 hours after eating a meal. This is text book information so it needs to be taken with a grain of salt. My normal range is about 140-150, if I run lower than 100 I am in a hypoglycemic state. Like Peyronies, everyone with Diabetes is different so your levels may not fall within the textbook range.

Anxiety can alter your glucose reading, it can raise or lower them. Mine generally tend to fall when I am under stress or have anxiety.

I have been on insulin injections since I was 2 years old, if a physician has prescribed Metformin then your body is still making insulin but not enough to take care of the food you are taking in. In most cases... You will be asked to try a diet regimen and lose weight to lower the glucose levels. If that doesn't work then the Metformin or similar agent can be prescribed and yes, I would suggest taking it. If the diet is not getting your glucose range in a good range (and again this range is not the same for everyone) then the medication needs to be taken so that further issues don't arise and so that you do not end up having to be on insulin injections.

Diabetes can play a big part in Peyronies, poor diabetic control affects circulation and nerves, so you need to do what you can to get back into a good range with your glucose levels.

Metformin is now proving to have anti-cancer effects.  Some docs are  prescribing it for its many anti-disease effects even if one doesn't have full blown diabetes.  Probably next best thing to going Keto diet.

Thank you all for all your valuable information.

One last question if you don't mind... As 6 months passed already with no curvature on the plaque side ( I have only dents around the shaft due to the steroid injection atrophy).... is there any chance that I will be having bends in the future? The plaque is almost 1/2" before tge glans on dorsal side, and the pain mostly when flaccid.

Hey picgg,

Sorry for the late answer! As you saw, there are many experts with great advices here... You're in good hands, so you can now begin to leave anxiety and enter in the action sphere :).

About your remaining questions, here is my opinion:
- Yes, one can still develop bends quite long ago after the first symptoms. However, as you've already attacked the condition with good oral treatments, AND because you can start traction/VED now if not already done, it is very probable that you will limit or totally prevent any future bending. I personnally had the dawn of a left curve 7 months after my first symptoms (but it may be because I re-injured myself at that time, not sure); but as I already was on oral treatments + good diet + traction/VED, it never passed 20°, and, 3 months later, was totally gone.

- Abstinence is a tricky question, with very good contradictory opinions. I firmly stand on the "rest it or lose it" side, as I had experimented the damages of masturbating/having sex regularly on the inflammation level (which is correlated with deformation), and have later been experimenting the benefits of abstinence. For me, no masturbation at all + soft sex just twice or three times a month is the good limit; but obviously you'll have to find yours.

- Yes, you have to realize and understand that anxiety and insomnia are conditions that can be accepted, fought, and disolved. Yes, it takes time and commitment, but it's the best and the most beautiful gift you can do to yourself. I did greatly reduced my anxiety and insomnia levels in one year; it was tough, sometimes I was really down the pit and locked in the dark, but I did it. For me, it required a good shrink (I'm still seeing), along with yoga (twice a week), meditation (every day), cardio training+weightlifting (2-3 times a week) and a goot diet. Gotu kola significantly helped too at a moment, but as I said you should not combine it with AD if you're still using them.

Anyway, cheer up mate: you only have a slight deformity, your plaque is really small, you've already undertaken a good part of the best treatments to limit any further damage/bending... And you still have many more things to try in order to improve your condition. No doubt you will  ;)!

Thank you so much... I think I am lucky that I found this forum.

I hope that I success in fighting this disease.

my second problem now is the atrophy caused by the steroid injection which I don't know if it reversable or not. I have like a gap in the middle of the shaft due to this injection. when I read the treatments on the internet, it seems my urologest has not updated his knowledge since very long time... despite he is oldest urologest in my countery ( his in 70's of his age) and everybody recommended him to me.
