Misdiagnosed penile fracture resulting in Peyronie's

Hello all,
I'm new to this site and new to this disease.
So here is my story.
In January I fractured my penis during sex with my wife.  I rushed to the hospital and was diagnosed with a penile fracture and possible urethra injury.  I was then transferred to one of the top hospitals in my state.  I had all of the signs of a penile fracture, but with very minimal swelling.  I was treated for a urethral injury and it was determined that I did not damage my urethra.  I was told I didn't have a penile fracture due to not having the typical swelling and diagnosed with only a straddle injury.  They then discharged me.  Fast forward 3 months and I end up in the ER again due to severe pain because the blood flow in penis will only go half way up the shaft.  Doctor says it sounds like I had a penile fracture and now have Peyronie's disease.  I begin going to a urologist and he confirms that I more than likely had a fracture.  (I have actually been diagnosed by 3 different urologists now and all agree I had a fracture). I then begin xiaflex treatment.  I have just finished my 3rd round of xiaflex and my curvature has changed to the hour glass deformity.  At first my Dr did not believe I was going to need surgery, but after my curvature changed to the hour glass deformity he has since decided I need to look into it after the 4th round.  I'm currently not a candidate for any surgery, due to the fact that I am still in the acute phase and am no where near pain free.  My curvature has decreased significantly, possibly some from the xiaflex and probably some from it now being an hour glass.  I'm asking for insight from the members here on their experiences and long term outlooks.  I understand that everyone's problems are different, but that I also understand that their is plenty of knowledge to be gained from people like me who have experienced similar situations.

Thank you

Pfract

I promise to write back later today. I also fractured my penis during sex. You are doing a couple of things wrong, in my POV.

Sounds like the curve resolved w xiaflex?  If so, you may want to try VED with supplements to address hourglass rather than just waiting for surgery.

I'm not sure if the curve is resolved or is now being masked some by the hour glass shape.  I'm also not sure about VED.  I now have a hernia, unrelated, but I'm trying hard not to aggravate it and I wasn't sure if it would.  Was hoping to deal with the hernia between final round of xiaflex and surgery.

Why are they talking surgery if you have no/very little curve?

My guess is because of the hour glass deformity.  It makes erections very painful.  Not so much during the erection but afterward, it is almost like the blood has a hard time retreating.  I'm also not sure what my curvature is anymore, due to the hour glass shape interfering with how it looks.  I was told for most of my doctors visits that I would not need surgery.  And my curvature would not be extreme once the active phase was over.  Since my doctor has found out about the change in deformity he backed off that some and said we will talk to a surgeon and the xiaflex treatment is complete.  I have already talked to a surgeon before and he said he would not recommend surgery due chance of damaging my nerves.  But that was before the hour glass deformity diagnosis.

On a positive side the 2nd shot of xiaflex, 3rd round, has seemed to help much better.  Doctor bent the needle some on the first shot and I hurt for days.  The second shot was very easy and the doctor said the plaque had turned very soft from the first shot.  I have been able to mold a lot better this time around and it seems to be making some progress.

Be really careful if this is the surgeons worry.  That might mean your plaque is close to where the nerves run.  The last thing you want is to have a permanent loss of feeling ... If you want to go that route see a sexual medicine specialist.  They are urologists that focus on keeping and restoring sexual performance and ability ...
55 - Onset May 2017.  38 degree bend up.  Failed Xiaflex treatment.  Still functional so I decided to stop treatments.  Only take 400mg Co-Q10 and occasionally use Restorex
