What do you mean by "plaque"?

Can anyone describe precisely what you mean when you talk about a peyronie's plaque? I don't believe I've ever read a solid description. I only ask because, 6 months after noticing my lump, I'm still not convinced it's really peyronie's.

Tell me if this sounds like a peyronie's plaque: my lump is in the septum and about midway up the shaft, deep inside. If you picture the penis as a tube, the lump is not on the top or on either side, it's inside the tube itself. It's palpable from both the top and the bottom. It has always felt very hard, even from the day I first noticed it, and it does not move between my fingers (not that I've tried very hard to make it move).

I don't have any other symptoms aside from mild discomfort that comes and goes. Never what I would call real pain. My erections are normal, and I have no curvature. I thought I had a small indentation on the top side, but I'm not even sure about that anymore. The lump itself has decreased in size from close to 2 cm at its largest to under 1 cm currently. I feel really good about the decrease and about the fact that I don't have any sort of deformity, but I'm still worried it could suddenly turn into something. I just don't know if this is really peyronie's or something else like Mondor's or something lymph related.

Hello Vegahoma,

What you describe surely sounds like the beginning of a Peyronie's: this is exactly how mine started (septal nodule, quite hard, exactly at the same spot...).

BUT, and that's all the difference, if you don't feel any pain in erection, have no deformity and noticed that your nodule has already decreased to half its size, it could mean that you have a very, very mild case of Peyronies Disease, and part of the happy few ones resolving on its own.

Anyway, I'd say: go to a competent uro who will perform or order a detailed ultrasound of your junk, and come back to us with strong result to see if you should start any preventive treatment (Pentox, Cialis, Arginin/Citrullin, traction & VED).

And don't freak out, this does not seem very worrying at all :-)

Take a flashlight and see if it has a bluish color. If it does, it's a lymphatic vessel.

Definitely could be mondor's, but good news! The treatment for mondors and PDS is basically the damn same. Abstain, rest the penis, be careful with it, and improve penile health. If you do have indentations, that IS Peyronie's. PDS does not require any lump. It is simply penile damage, fibrosis, and deformity.

Thanks for the responses, guys! I did see a urologist a week or so after I first noticed the lump. He didn't do an ultrasound, because he didn't think it was necessary. He prescribed 5 mg Cialis and told me to check back if it got worse. Currently, and for the past 6 months, I'm taking: vitamin E in the morning, CoQ10 with dinner, 2.5 mg Cialis at night (I started cutting the pills in half, because my insurance doesn't cover it, and that stuff is expensive). Also, per Neo's advice, I put myself on a moderately low-carb, intermittent fasting diet.

Gabriel, how long did it take for you to develop any curvature/deformity? I'm just wondering if I'm "out of the woods," so to speak, since the lump is decreasing in size or if I should still be wary about a deformity suddenly popping up.

This whole episode started very much like yours for me. I first noticed a small pea sized lump deep inside and some mild discomfort when erect. i went to a uro who didn't know what it was and said come back in 6 weeks. During this time i was receiving hardcore drug treatment for hepatitis c,so my erections, sexlife and masturbation were zero.   I think this probably helped the lump or damage to heel and disapear. About 11 months later it flaired up again into a proper dorsal plaque, curvature and pain. I had started to have sex again after the hep treatment and what i think caused the damage was maturbating with a semi flacid penis.

If your lump disapears i'd definately advise taking it easy with your dick and look after it with penile and general health treatments. Good luck.

Hey vegaoma,

Sorry for the late answer!

So, my deformation (hourglass/bottlenecking) started around 3 months after the first symptoms (pain + lump), and developped slowly but steadily for another 9 months... And I'm still in! But don't take this as an indication on your fate: it is not a word but a fact that every Peyronie's is different, so things might as well go faster, slower, or totally different for you.

Just stick to the oral and mechanical treatments and you'll surely limit the damage :-)!
