What I recall before my peyronies in 1995 I was also on atenolol. Seems to be a common trait.

I agree with Les find a new doctor not just a general practice urologist but a Male Sexual Function Specialist. Hard to find yes, worth the effort 1,000,000 times yes.

I had a severe arrhythmia attack (atrial fibrillation) about 7 years. I was taken to the Emergency Room and treated. After I had to contact a Cardiologist for obvious reasons. Being I had high blood pressure he prescribed Cozaar and the beta blocker Atenolol. I have been taking it daily since.

After doing some recent research I too learned that one of the possible side effects of taking Atenolol is the development of Peyronies Disease. Did it in my case? I don't know. Maybe, as I had no symptoms before taking it. Maybe it just contributed or aided the progression.

Anyways I have Peyronies now and informed my Cardiologist about my concern. Because I still suffer from both arrhythmia and high blood pressure he wants me to continue taking it. However we have agreed to cut the dosage in half from 50mg to 25mg, which IMO is a start in the right directions.
