If any trauma to the dick causes peyronies, how come it is not that known?

I guess all men had dick traumas one way or another during their life, I even remember woking up with a painful woody's..

Anyone can injure his dick while asleep... and end up with peyronies?

I had an injury with my GF where she has twisted my erect dick month and a half ago, and squeezed it forcefully again. I feel like I have a lump/indent when semi erect. And I am very worried now!!!

What I am saying is, if common/normal dick traumas result in peyronies, there must be like 90% of men with this disease!

Any thoughts?

Think we are all different and what causes Peyronies Disease in one man is not force to cause in another man, don't think anyone can say for 100% that this or that caused my Peyronies Disease, it's like remedies, what works for me not force to work for you.

I think too, that Peyronies is not that well known/publicized by men and physicians and more men have it but just aren't aware.

Hey folks:

My 2 cents about the percentage of men with Peyronies Disease symptoms of Peyronies Disease. And, along with it ED. My personal take on this is that men may or may not be vain enough TO TELL OR NOT TO TELL ANYONE ABOUT THEIR BENT/DAMAGED PENISES. The wait and see attitude will only lead to worse symptoms which may not respond to help.

I know that in my personal case. there were days/weeks when I had medium symtpoms of Peyronies Disease, knew what it was, but just could bring myself to admit it and seek professional help. After much pain and suffering I finally bit the bullet and sought professional medical help.

Today, I do not present any symptoms of Peyronies Disease as a result of my thorough search for help, so guys (wives, GFs and other significants) GET HELP FROM A QUALIFIED UROLOGIST ASAP WHEN YOU PRESENT WITH Peyronies Disease (OR PERCEIVED SYMPTOMS). Do not wait until you are well into the acute stage to seek qualfied urologist help.

An old study in the 80s showed that 1/4th of dead bodies had scarring of the penis. Now, consider the fact that a lot of Peyronie's cases do not present with obvious scar tissue, but rather with fibrotic tissue. The disease is VERY under-reported and misunderstood.

There is also genetic / metabolic link that would be hard to screen for. If we tested our fasting insulin and DNA, or even our penile tissue itself, maybe we could better predict how susceptible we are. Insulin resistance causes cancer in some people, heart disease in others,  Alzheimer's ("Diabetes type 3") in others, and a range of diseases in other people. They are now treating Alzhemer's with nasal insulin spray and patented pills containing nothing but coconut oil. Heart disease is caused by an energy crisis (insulin resistance) in the actual smooth muscle of the heart. Each organ has a different metabolic profile, including the penis.

I agree with Old Man, do not take the disease lightly or think you are above it.

Hi Neo, can you point me to the alz studies you mentioned?  I'm on the keto diet mostly to stave off dementia but hoping it's helping my severe case of Peyronies Disease as well.
Thanks! tony

Peyronie's is not a 'damage to the penis' condition. It is a 'failure of the penis to heal properly after damage' to the penis condition.

It could even just be a matter of percentages of healing. For one person a bit of damage causes a small amount of scarring, and that does not affect the function or appearance of the penis, but exactly the same damage for a different man could cause enough fibrosis to affect the function and appearance of the penis. The % difference in amount of scarring probably would not have to be great.
This is an emotionally destructive condition, we all have it, let's be nice to each other.

Tsanchez, Dementia, Alzheimer's, ALS, and Parkison's have been shown to be disorders of glucose dysregulation and insulin resistance for a  long time now. I could list dozens of studies on this. I am very happy to hear you are doing keto!

Skunkworks, that's AMAZING news and it does NOT surprise me. Diabetes is a simple term that means next to nothing. Hyperinsulinemia is the hidden pandemic of our era. Not only that, but it was just theorized that each of us have different "glucotypes" which refers to how we handle (or fail to hand) carbohydrates, yet NONE of this is shown by just checking your blood sugar. Exactly, that's what I thought.

Because everyone had dick injuries, it is all about properly healing.

Now i'm more confident that the dent I have will fill and heal properly.

Is flaccid stretching to the opposite side of the dent a good idea?

Cheers NeoV, it's surprising (to me) but heartening to find that dents which are almost a decade old are not completely without hope of improvement.

FYI for everyone else, NeoV is talking about this post of mine Diabetes of the Penis: Peyronie's and Diet - Peyronies Society Forums [Page 2]

Peyronie has a genetic cause, traumatism just trigger the onset. A person without the difect if got a small trauma , it healhs overtime and leaves small traces or nothing . A peyronie patient will develop a plaque or several plaques even with a minimal traumatism risulting in a shortening of inches and erectile disfuction.

Hi! Thanks for raising this question.

I tend to believe that PR onsets after severe surgery or illness. Experience of huge stress and/or trauma shifts something on wholebody immune response so predisposed persons get Peyronies Disease. For instance I had some mechanical strain on penis from mild fimosis and never cared about it for 26 years. After serious illness and surgery (associated with crazy level psychological stress) something kicked in Peyronies Disease and the plaque began to grow exactly there my dick was pressed during erections. So it is some sort of mechanical trauma plus some shift in immune reaction/healing regulations.

I see a LOT of stories on this forum that Peyronies Disease bagan immediately after something tremendously stressful in one's life...I am hoping more professionals will research this matter
Born 1985, Peyronie's since 2011/12. Lost approximately 3 cm of length and seriously bottlenecked.
