Hello

Long time reader, first post. Well, reader for a couple of months now. I was diagnosed with Peyronies Disease on May 14th. Was pretty sure I had it before then, but waited for my physical to be sure. I waited maybe 4 weeks after the first sign. My primary then set me up with a urologist. Urologist did a few tests, stretched out my penis and then pressed the area with the plaque which did hurt and he said yep, Peyronies Disease. Said I had a 2 cm plaque that was still soft and I was in the very beginnings of the acute phase (believe that's it). So he prescribed me Colchicine to take twice daily. Also said to take 400 mg of vitamin E once daily. Was also told to stretch straight down around 2-3 minutes a day. Have been pretty consistent with the treatment minus a few bumps in the road. I am also taking CoQ10, ALC, Arginine, ALA and Vitamin D. Also trying to eat an anti-inflammatory diet. Getting ready to start back in the gym.

When I first started, I had no pain and no curve. Not currently in a relationship so if I self pleasured, did not have any issues.

Now when I get nocturnal erections, they are painful, well somewhat painful, not super painful, more like sensitive pain. I started wearing the boxers with the hole in the front. When I let it go through the hole during an erection, it doesn't hurt. It will then only hurt when I flex (forgot the word for it, holding from using the bathroom ha). If I have to go to the restroom, then after I go, the erection slowly goes away and so does the pain. If I do not have to use the bathroom, then I just kind of lie there waiting for it to go away. The erections vary on rigidity. Sometimes very firm, others not so firm. And now there is some curve but I can only tell when I hold it during an erection. Can barely see a curve. When self pleasure was earlier not an issue. It is a little painful if I am not gentle, and erection feels kind of S like, but not completely sure.

I am so wanting to get through this. I'm thinking the depression it is causing is making it worse. It is stressing me to no end. Hoping working out will help with the stress part. I usually feel very relaxed and calm after a workout, and more positive, like things will get better. Have also started taking a long hot bath 3-4 times a week in addition to my daily shower. Just for the moist heat, hoping that will help. I am also having trouble with patience. My biggest issue. I know this is going to be a marathon, but I am looking daily for any and all improvement, and if I do not see any, there comes the depression. Has me questioning my faith which isn't something I want to see happen. I have read some of Neo's posts and I also believe that the body heals better when it has proper nutrition, exercise...when it is at its peak physically. Not sure how that will help with my Peyronies Disease, but I'm going all in. Worst case I just get in great shape. But doing that is more difficult with the stress. It is like a vicious circle, the stress probably hurts the situation, but it's the situation that's causing the stress.

Anyway, I guess I've just come here to try and find some hope. I was feeling okay about a month ago, but with it curving where I can at least tell, and having the hourglass to some degree, the okay feeling has gone away. So trying to get that feeling back. I think the better my mind, body and spirit are, the better the healing will be and the better my overall mood will be, hopefully ha.

Sorry for the longwinded intro, and even though it is longwinded, probably left out some stuff. Just need some hope.

Dear friend, your decision to register here is good. You will find people who can understand you and with you can talk with.
The advice i can give you is to don't lose hope, remember that in this disease what works for one guy doesn't work for another; probably if you make a lot of research, you will find a treatment that will improve your disease. In this case, share so other people can benefit from it. Another advice i want to give you is that, even if this situation is really depressing, you shouldn't focus on the bad situation; instead, work to find a way to improve it. It is working for me. I have got depressive days, but after some time i get back my life and make a ton of research to find something that can improve my situation. It will change your mind and behavious from "passive-depressive" to "active". It can seem a stupid advice, but trust me, doing some (even if research only) can help, IMHO.

I wish you the best.

You might ask for pentox which can treat both the plaque and pain.  Also diclofenac sodium gel can help w pain.  Also recommended is daily low dose cialis and traction or VED.  You've caught this early and hat really helps!

Yep. Get a script for Pentoxifilene (sp?) ASAP. My pain was gone in 4-5 days after I started it.
50 year old, onset in Feb. '18, diagnosed in Mar '18, 4 rounds of Xiaflex completed, little improvement, mentally overwhelmed...ED issues, major anxiety issues now.

Hi friend. I want to share with you a couple of considerations. First period is hard, we all need to go though it. Don't keep it only for yourself. That's a burden nobody can go though alone. Alone we don't put things on perspective and we get stuck on thoughts that might or not be proportionate and useful.
Consider talking to a psych*, and consider antidepressants, which made me not being overwelmed and "impotent" about my problems (ironic but true).
Consider all the therapies and talking to more than one specialist!

Pain and anxiety really do impact greatly on erection. If you watch your penis to study the quality of your erection, how can you be horny?

Your condition will vary either that you constantly and closely watch it for development or that you are doing everything you can and focus on not consider problems until when they present themselves.

Now you will feel  pain because the damage is new and area is sore, but body can adapt and first thing is getting though the pain and eventually get over it. It is possible and it will take time, as for every body damage one can pass through.

You are not alone, and you are not you penis.

First enemy your despair, so find a doctor for that.
Second enemy time, so fill it.
Third enemy pain, because either you are a masochist, or you can't find pleasure in pain, and brain will make it's best to avoid it, and you don't want to go down that slope.
Furter enemies can be clearly seen only when you are in a decent mood and erection is not directly linked to pain: if you don't feel pain and you are not in despair or complete fixation that don't let you to not overthink your sexual situation, and let's say you are not satisfied with your erection, well there are drug therapies that work for that, and they work.

Shape comes only after all these problems, so don't let it jump to first position! One thing at a time, everything can be addressed. If you try to cope with everything at the same time, you may struggle! Focus on one solution at a time.

You are not alone and there space for joy in your life, because there are not problems that you can't possbly adapt to.

If you can't focus and can't put things in line, then your first problem is to find someone to help you do these things.

Your penis doctor may or may not be the person to worry about your coping skills, but he's probably not, or not the only one.

I won't tell you don't worry, but I will tell you that there's "worry " that doesnt help you, and "worry" that does.

It's a mess, but there are a tons of things you can do about it, so  worry about one thing at a time.
