Hi.  I'm circumcized.  I injured myself masturbating in December.  There was no real pain.  An external cut on the opposite side that healed fine, and then my erections just felt awkward.  Kind of twisted or crooked.  It just didn't feel right.  I could feel light tearing somewhere within when erect.  Fast forward half a year.  I have this persistent dark red spot on the front of my penis, halfway down the shaft where that flap of skin that kind of looks like a dress ends.  A cord of tissue underneath my skin travels horizontal halfway across the circumference of my penis from that dark spot in the front.

I'm definitely a grower.  I often go from 1 inch to almost 6.  It seems like in the literature for standard Peyronies cases, the curve gets worse or looks really bad when erect.  My curve is only noticeable when trying to get erect.  I feel something impeding the right side from filling with blood.  Eventually when I get aroused enough, the blood bypasses that side and fills my penis completely.  At that point I'm almost completely straight.

I've been to the only urologist my insurance authorizes me to see and he was worthless.  He looked at it flaccid, asked me if there was a 30 degree curve, and then treated me like I was wasting his time when I said no.

I just want to know if I'm potentially a good candidate for fully healing, and if masturbation will do too much harm to it if there's something underneath that I keep tearing. Thanks for any help you can provide. I feel like nobody cares.

I don't read any symptoms that would indicate Peyronies.

Masturbation is fine, just don't get overly aggressive and further cause injury.

Thanks!  I guess I'll just keep an eye on it.  Maybe try to abstain for a while.

How much is the curve at it's worth when semi erect?

When I'm only beginning to become erect it seems like the right side above my injury where I can feel a "cord" beneath the skin just gets stuck... so I'd say there's a 30 degree bend to the right and maybe 10 degrees forward relative to the bottom half of the shaft.  Eventually it starts to catch up and when I get close to having an erection that can penetrate something, it's shrunk to a 10 to 15 degree bend.  By the time I'm EXTREMELY erect and leaking pre and at the perfect spot for edging, it's a 0 to 5 degree visible curve.  More of a slight twist forward and to the right it seems, like a bit of torsion.  The worst part is just how awkward it feels... not painful, but it feels like one last little area is being held back or twisted and needs to be released before it could feel the way I'm used to.

I am incredibly excited to report that I do not have Peyronie's Disease! After almost a year of having a bend and some pain, I decided to devote the month of October to resisting temptation and leaving my junk alone. I avoided all the old habits that got me into looking at porn and just watched Star Trek the Next Generation all month instead.

I imagine people who end up not having Peyronie's Disease seldom actually come back here and report it, so hopefully this is helpful. I spent so many nights stressing that my days of comfortable erections and pleasurable masturbation and sex was over. I had even gone to a urologist who didn't have a clue what he was doing and said I probably do have Peyronie's. He looked at my flaccid dick for like half a second. Told me to come back in a year. Absolutely unhelpful and scary.

Apparently it is possible, even if you're circumcised like me, to tear some skin beneath the shaft where you can't even see it bleed. It will hurt a little and cause the erection to bend. But if it gets straighter the more erect you get, that is a really good sign. The weight and intrusion of the scabbing inside can cause a bend and some minor pain.  The tear can even continue to perforate around your shaft, so it really is a good idea to be careful and let it heal. I can't believe after all this time I'm getting a completely normal erection back!!!

If someone had confided in me that profound bends can happen even with minor injuries under the shaft, I would have felt so much better and avoided temptation to masturbate and have sex, to let it heal long before now.  To anyone who is worried about an unsightly bend upon becoming erect, and that you are doomed to pain and discomfort forever, if you can still straighten out once fully erect, there is hope!

Great post and thanks so much for coming back.

It should also be a lesson that a penis is designed to slide in and out of a naturally well-lubricated vagina.  That is not to say there are not other things you can do with it but the penis does not respond well to trauma.  Guard your dick and care for it because you are NOT guaranteed it will work forever.  Understand that when you subject it to trauma it is not designed for that you risk triggering a cascade of events that is not easy to turn off.

I firmly believe that bending while filling out is early Peyronie's. I had that and still have it a bit, and many young men I talk to personally have it or had it prior to permanent erect deformities. I believe its caused by hematoma and damage to the penis.

I'm very happy you seem to have recovered by resting your penis.
Always be careful and as hawk says, masturbation is not very natural so be careful.

masturbation w a foreskin and when erect should be easy on the dick and not traumatic, without a foreskin one has to take care to not only be erect but well lubed (also for intercourse).  In those situations barring any harsh treatment of your dick I believe regular masturbation can not only be harmless but perhaps even therapeutic for peyronies-increasing regular blood flow.  Caveat: one  must always stop or back off if any discomfort or pain.  I know there are guys out there that have there own personal experiences which are not consistent w this, but I just want to put this out there as another perspective.  I don't believe there is any research or publications that contradict this—please let me know if I've missed something.

I would think one would have to be very abnormally tightly circumcised for this to male any difference.  I think any circumcised male can slide the skin up and down the shaft with no resistance.  There is no friction between the hand and skin.

I have been on forums long enough to know that men find very aggressive ways to masturbate.  I am actually surprised at the frequency with which males dry hump the hard floor and other equally aggressive behaviors.

I masturbated for years without foreskin and without lube with no problem.  Something to do with the humidity of the area and heat of your body makes a lot of difference.  When I'm in a really hot room and starting to lightly sweat, it's nearly impossible to masturbate without lube, but when it's cooler, I often have no friction.

This injury I gave myself was without lube and I had just moved to a new state with a new climate.  :O

Varying degrees of circumcision make a difference for sure.  However, for stimulation to the glans lube is most often needed.  The aggressive techniques such as Hawk mentioned are quite risky for developing peyronies!
