In my case, it's hard for me to concentrate on my work.
I just can not work  and this is very worrying .
I'm afraid to become homeless .
How to cope with this?
3 times tried to work but could not do this for a long time .
Often I change work with big breaks and stay at home.

Gabriel

Hi Sergey,

In the first times of the disease (or when you get new flares) it is indeed very hard to focus and work efficiently.

For me, cold showers and mostly Gotu Kola (centella asiatica, 300 to 1400 mg/day) helped a lot. Maybe you should give it a shot !

It's hard for anyone not effected by Peyronies Disease to understand how it's on your mind 24/7. It has stolen my peace completely.
50 year old, onset in Feb. '18, diagnosed in Mar '18, 4 rounds of Xiaflex completed, little improvement, mentally overwhelmed...ED issues, major anxiety issues now.

I am unable to work, I have zero motivation for life

And that includes working and studying

SergeyAnael

Yes zero motivation.
My only motivation is not to be homeless....I'm afraid of these things .
But it is difficult to live only with one motivation .
Today I was forced to leave my apartment to buy food.
I walked along the street and felt weak  , as if I have not just a peyronie disease but a whole-body disease.

@Gabriel: what did the Gotu Kola specifically help with?

How about the cold showers?

Well, after 2 months of daily use and a 10 days of pause, I'm pretty positive that Gotu Kola does have a good antidepressant/anxiolytic/pro-focus effect (1500 mg/day for me, but better to begin with 500 and increase progressively IF NEEDED afrer one week, and never above 1500mg/d).

Also taking a cold shower (and I mean finish real cold, even if you begin with warm water) 3 times a day does help me get out of the usual brainfog.

That, plus yoga/meditation and a good psychiatrist is what makes me survive this disease and live with it. I can't say I'm the happiest guy ever, nor that I never have dark moments, but now I am able to live and work without thinking about my sick penis 24/7.

All these things do work if done seriously, I'm not talking here about other solutions that I tried without success ; so don't lose hope, and start trying some of these suggestion if you need to :-)

Well Currently pentox and H100 ointment have killed my pain. That's helped take my mind offf during school. I also feel like since I started taking magnesium it's had an anti depressant effect. I take medication for anxiety as needed on my worst days to fall asleep. I'm still stressed about it, but I try my best to push it to the back of my mind. What helps me is knowing in the end there's always a solution, even if it's an inflatable dick (implant). When it first hits is the worst. I experienced a real case of moderate depression. I considered going on SSRIs for It. Now I'm much better at coping

Similar feelings. No motivation, no drive and energy for life, no plans on future, nothing. Just emptiness.

I just wonder what should we do to get attention of society. Passive and peaceful methods doesn't work in this world. Society can changes only after some radical, shocking, depressive experience. With the life full of food, internet, TV, hedonism etc. etc. nobody will give a sh#t about part of males with penile/genital diseases. We are thrown out of gene pool which full of healty people, so nobody cares what will happen with us. Nobody cares about cripples.

SergeyAnael

What annoys me like on TV sometimes talk about super medecine of the 21st century.
Simply ridiculous, they even can not  heal the penises.

Gabriel

Yes they are people who do care about us Alex ! Whatever our lifestyle we always have at least one or two close persons (relatives, friends...) who are really concerned by our situation ; moreover, even if at the beginning you obviously have to pay them, after some time your therapist and your uros will really begin to personnaly care about you. I just go out, this afternoon, from the office of Dr Virag and Sussman, which kept me for 2 hours and a half, answering my dozens of questions, explaining every tiny spot on the echography screen, giving me advices for this and that whithout trying to sell me anything (they even told me maybe I should wait a little while before maybe considering their injections). Those two are really good people, still working on new ideas and strongly willing to help at 80 yo! On monday, I took an emergency appointment with my main uro Dr Galiano, who gave me shockwave to ease my pain between two official patients, and explained me that he was thinking of a new crazy idea to help us Peyronies Disease patients (basically he wants to create a small "counter-plaque" to correct the deformations, but it is still very theoretical).

So, yes they are people caring about this disease, even if they are not with us all the time ; and meanwhile, what you can do, is trying to help yourself. Therapy, yoga, meditation, any way that will suit you, you can and you must take. I used to be totally desperated a few months ago, even considering suicide; I can tell you that, despite being a very cerebral and cartesian person, these thoughts are gone, and I can live my life with my Peyronie.

Cheer up dude, there's a whole bunch of possibilities that you still haven't tried outside, and some will work for you !!

Yeah, F^@$!ng uros

SergeyAnael

"basically he wants to create a small "counter-plaque" to correct the deformations"

this will not return lost the size.
For example
My penis can be a curve about 10 degrees BUT,the penis diminished considerably in size.
And I do not even feel a plaque and do not see.
Here  need something like xiaflex but more effective for the complete dissolution of plaques at any stage and size.

Gabriel

Of course we do need and would al like an universal and definitive cure, but until it exist, we can do what can be done with what we have.

Precisely, about the size, correct me if I'm wrong but I came accross dozens of posts from guys who finally succeded to recover the size they lost, with thorough use of traction and VED (Old Man whom I PM'ed told me he recovered more than an inch in one year). So I'm not saying it's perfect, but it surely can be something in which we can place hope.

I Don't
Because of erectile dysfunction i quit my job because of stress and depression
pills/injections don't work

Only time i leave my house is to go to doctors or urologist.
My family buy me food.

i'm like this for maybe 1 year now.

I would loose an arm/leg/my home anything to fix this crap

Gabriel

I'm sorry to hear about your situation Ed. I know it's hard to believe, but with the years passing by, the human mind can get used to and overcome many unsuspected things. I hope your condition gets better with new endeavours of treatments and some time !

Hi, i have had Peyronies Disease  for over 3 years, and ED for 6 years, and i understand where some of you guys are coming from, 24/7 all ways got your penis on your mind, I have been very lucky, with the use of my VED hand stretching and massage, i have regained my full erection size plus a little extra, especially on girth, after a session with my VED i like to play with my new penis, it feels great, i'm now 67 and have the biggest penis of my life, so don't give up, one day you will have your penis back, that you must believe in, go for it.

This fact that we're already passed 1/5 part of 21st century but the medicine is still on the level of beginning of 20st century making me feel literally without any hope. Where're all of these sci-fi nano-tech futuristic options? Where're these DNA-editing and genetic engineering technologies which were promised 20 years ago? Where're lab grown organs which are "developing and testing" since early 1980's? What a crappy  life we live in.

Ed, have you considered treatment for depression?  This disease is terrible and can throw many of us into such s depression that we need treatment to address it (therapy and/or meds)z

ED, how long have you had severe ED? Consider an implant, right now it's the only solution science has to offer

I looked through numerous photos after the implantation operation .
Some are not bad but many photos scare me.
Penises very small and lifeless .
I do not know all the details of each photo, what implants they used and similar things.
But all this looks scary.

ed2018

@ Gabriel
Thank You !

@ Tsanchez12369
Thanks !
I have tried counselling but did not help
But i will be possibly be getting implant i spoke with uro today so i hope this will help me.

@ diehardpatriot
Thanks !
About 1 year now.I am thinking about implant

@SergeyAnael
I looked at photos also.
I think very small because most men who have implants are 60/70/80 years old maybe?
Also because wait too many years before having implant

I don't know?

SergeyAnael

Maybe...
To initiate an erection, you need to press the pump 10 times what is also bad.
Many disadvantages .

ed2018

Yes
I agree about pump.
Would be much better if only need to press one time.

But now with erectile dysfunction i can never meet with woman.
But if i get implant then maybe ? 8)

I also don't work. Glad I still got parents to support me and I get paid from the government. It's not much, but enough to survive. When I leave home and rent my own place I'm probably gonna grow my own weed (not to sell, but at least I won't have to buy it anymore), sell siamese kittens (grandma did it for years and has a cattery) and clean the house for my family in exchange for a little bit of extra cash. All in all I feel dissatisfied with this kind of life, but it beats having to work a crap job for 40 hours a week AND deal with this at the same time. Also, my antidepressants make it easier to enjoy normal activities like sports and games. I take cymbalta. Other than that I feel that there should be a solution soon for us,because no man should have to deal with this.
Age: 25
Date of onset: 17
Symptoms: sharp pains, numbness, change in shape/size, hourglassing and discolaration from jelqing/VED usage as a teen. Diagnosed with a venous leak and possible scarring.
Treatments tried: cialis, pentox and VED didnt help

Very sorry to hear about your story.
I understand what you mean about work AND dealing with this.
That is exactly why i had to leave my job.

SergeyAnael

Everybody knows the prosthetic hands that move through muscle contraction .
It would be nice if  create similar prostheses of the penis.
Artificial erection is due to a nerve impulse from the brain or something like that.
I think it's not so difficult.
Just no one tried to do it.
But the pump is not a solution to the problem .

If the nerve impulses from the brain are too difficult for our useless science and medecine ...It is possible to create an artificial erection through the slightest changes in the bloodstream of the penis.
The sensor detects the change in blood flow and triggers the mechanism for erection.
Because even if the guy is impotent  when intimacy with a girl or a fantasy, there may be some increase in   bloodstream even if it is not noticeable.
Or the release of certain enzymes into the blood .
Lots of options.
And I'm sure it's possible to come up with a way to substantially return dimensions when implanted.
Otherwise, implantation does not make any sense and does not solve the problem.

ed2018

SergeyAnael
If create similar prostheses of the penis.
Then i think a lot of men would get this !

I think implant start 1973
Now is 2018 and still nothing better

That's what I'm talking about, it's almost 50 years have gone, but nothing other hasn't been created.

SergeyAnael

They just do not want to do it.
No financial injections in the development, no interest.
It is possible to do this with today's technologies.

I'm tired of thinking about this because of governments and corporations that do not want to do it.

diehardpatriot

Hey guys. With he right surgeon you lose no size, and erections are good. Yes you have to pump and get revisions every 10-15 years, and it's a bit embarrassing to tell a girl if you get in a relationship, but besides those. It's still better than being impotent

I can understand the prosthesis for a 60 year old man but for young guys this is not a solution.
If the prosthesis with a pump and without increasing the size.
