Hello all. I have a ~40 degree curve up and some E.D issues too. I will be going to my urologist on May 14th for a consultation of Xiaflex. Have seen good thing from this product and hope it will work for me. She has me on Pentox, Colchicine and Vitamin E liquid as of 6 weeks ago and will hopefully do the Xiaflex shots soon. I also bought a traction device from A4Labs and a VED to use in unison with Xiaflex shot.  There seems to be a plethora of videos pertaining to practically everything medical except when it comes to Xiaflex shots just curious why there aren't any on the internet. I would like to see what I'm getting into here. If you know where to find them please post a link. Thanks in advance.

Found an excellent training video for Xiaflex. This is a good source of info if you plan to have injections.

No personal outcome yet. I meet with my urologist tomorrow morning for a consultation. I will start a personal log on this forum as the procedure transpires. I am looking forward to this and hope it works for me as it did for so many others.

I thought my doctor was putting in paperwork for insurance approval, imagine my surprise when they called today and said they are doing that now. Now two weeks added to my wait. What has been your personal experience or time line for getting approval, and time between to first shot.  Just hopping it won't be long.

Xiaflex approval not long, once the doc submits....

There are many variables for approval and time. A good practice will be prompt with submitting the proper info. Then it falls in insurances lap. Paperwork may not always be the quickest route. Especially, if there is some needed back and forth between the two parties. If you exlierence any delays, or are curious, you can get in touch with insurance to make sure the gears are in motion. You'll likely be put in touch with the RX dept as pending approval is for a drug, and not a procedure such as surgery. Your dr can also make a call as opposed to dealing with paperwork.
